Salad: tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, pepper.
Others: peas, pumpkin, corn, cabbage, garden

8. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT
• Proverbs 23:1-3.
• Storing excessive fat in the body leads to being
overweight or obese; which in turn leads to HBP,
DM, stroke, sleep apnea, heart attack,
arteriosclerosis.
• A major cause of obesity is over-eating/ gluttony.
• Food is good, but excess is injurious to a good
healthy life style.
9. SEEK THAT WHICH IS GOOD
• Proverbs 24:13.
• Honey is better than refined sugar esp for the
elderly because it is easier for the digestive
system to break down the sugar in the honey
than that in refined sugar.
10. SOME DIET TIPS
• Tailor dietary calorie intake to suit age and sex.
• High fibre diet – oatmeal, wheat bread, whole grain,
raw well washed fruits, vegetables and salads.

poultry, fish).
• Avoid certain shellfish such as shrimps.
• Herbs and spices not only spice foods, they also
provide cholesterol lowering benefits.
• Use heart-healthy oils from plant sources.
• Among dairy products, stick to skimmed milk and
avoid too much of high fat foods such as cream,
cheese and butter.
• Take at least three litres of water a day.
12. MODERATION IS KEY
• Proverbs 25:16.
• Much as God recommends a thing, He
also cautions us on moderation.
• God fed the Israelites with manna and
quails twice a day; He also fed Elijah with
bread and meat (using ravens) twice a
day.
