TURBOCHARGER
 The basic working principleof
Turbochargeris"FORCED INDUCTION"
 The turbochargeris usedto increase
engine power.
 The Turbocharger isdrivenbyusing
exhaustgasfrominternal combustion
engine.
 The turbochargerhousingcontainsa
turbine andcentrifugal aircompressor
on the same shaft.
NEEDS OF A TURBOCHARGER
 Turbocharger are usedto increase
the volumetricefficiencyof the
engine byincreasingthe air-fuel
mixture enteringthe cylinder.
 Turbocharger are usedto decrease
the emissionof CO2.
TWIN TURBOCHARGER
 In twinturbochargerthere are two
turbochargerare usedforhigher
efficiency.
COMPOUND DOUBLE TURBINE
TURBOCHARGER

inturbochargerto attain higherrpm.

efficiency.

 The VGT withnowaste gate usesthe
exhaustenergytodrive the turbine,
whichin turn drivesthe compressor
to increase the volumetricefficiency
and increasingthe expansionratio,
poweroutput,OutputTorque.
