An online survey of 1,000 Belgians found that while most go online regularly for activities like banking and shopping, many find remembering passwords and using card readers irritating and insecure. The survey also found that many Belgians have poor password security habits and don't fully trust current login methods with their personal data. To address these issues, Belgian Mobile ID created itsme, a new digital identity app that replaces passwords and card readers with a single secure login method for online services. According to an early reaction survey, Belgians find itsme easier to use and view it as safer and giving them more control over their personal data than traditional login methods.
