1. ASSIGNMENT OF CS - 306
(BS PART I – RDS - 2K22)
ASSIGNMENT DONE BY :- AHMED
DEPARTMENT :- (RDS – 2K22)
2. 1:- TYPES OF COMPUTERS ACCORDING TO THEIR
HARDWARE STRUCTURE :
•There are Three types of Computers according to their
Hardware Structure.
•1. Analog Computers
•2. Digital computers
•3. Hybrid computers
3. 1. ANALOG COMPUTERS.
•Analog Computers Are used to process Continuous Data
Such As, Thermometer because it measures the length of a
Mercury column continuously.
4. 2. DIGITAL COMPUTER.
•The computers which present physical quantities with the
help of symbols or numbers and provide us discrete
information are called digital computers.
•Example : Digital watch, digital petrol stations, and the
computer which we use nowadays are the examples of
digital computers.
5. 3. HYBRID COMPUTERS.
The computers which have qualities of both digital and analogue computers
are called hybrid computers.
Examples:
1. In ICU of a hospital, hybrid computers are used. These computers analogue
quality controls the temperature of the room digital quality inform the doctor
about the blood pressure, temperature, and physical status of the patient.
2. In Cement factory hybrid computer is used where all calculations are
performed by the digital computers and actions like increase of material are
performed by the analogue computers.
6. 2:- TYPES OF COMPUTERS ACCORDING TO
THEIR SIZE STRUCTURE
•There are four types of the computer According to Their
Size structure .
•1. Supercomputer
•2. Mainframe computer
•3. Minicomputer
•4. Micro Computer
7. 1. SUPER COMPUTER.
•A super computer is the fastest computer in the world that
can process a significant amount of data very quickly.
These machines are spccial, And high-capacity computers
used by very large organizations.
•For example, NASA uses super computers to track and
control space explorations.
8. 2. MAINFRAME COMPUTERS.
•Mainframe computers are the computers occupying
specially wired, air-conditioned rooms. They are capable
of great processing speeds and data storage.
•They are used by large organizations, e.g. banks,
universities and government agencies
9. 3. MINI COMPUTERS.
•Computer that is smaller, less expensive, and less powerful
than a mainframe or supercomputer but more expensive
and more powerful than a personal computer that is called
mini computer.
10. 4. MICRO COMPUTER.
•fastest growing and most commonly used computers are
micro computers.
•These are also known as personal computer or PC.
•These are easy to operate.
•These are smaller in size and less expensive.
