4. SUBCUTANEOUS MYCOSES :
➢ It involve in dermis or subcutaneous tissue.
➢ It is otherwise called as mycoses implantation.
➢ Because the pathogen acquire through skin by
minor cut or scratches.
➢ These infections are difficult to treated.
➢ Rhinosporidiosis , mycetoma , sporotrihosis are
general type.
5. RHINOSPORIDIOSIS :
➢ Causative agent – rhinosporidum seebari
➢ Its is chronic granulomatous disease
➢ Characterized by the development of
polypoid masses of the nasal mucosa
➢ It produce large spherules in lesion and
epithelial cells
6. PATHOGENESIS
➢ It is started life cycle in tissue as rounded and oval spore.
➢ Undergoes developmental converted mature cell.
➢ The organism develop sporangium
➢ Then spore escape from sporangium and are carried from
lymphatic cell
➢ Then form a lesion
➢ Thus lesion are found in the mucosa of the nose
➢ Lesion are initially found in flat but develop in discolored
cauliflower type of masses.
➢ Then block the respiration.
7. EPIDOMOLOGY :
✓ This disease was first reported in 1990 from Argentina
✓ over 200 case have been recognized
✓ 90% of the cases are from INDIA and SRILANKA
of which are males
LABORATORY DIAGNOSIS
1. Sample collection - skin tissue
2. Staining - gram staining , endospore staining
3. Histological tissue examination
8. TREATMENT :
• This infection is treated with ETHYLSTILBAMIDE.
• It doesn’t more effective one.
• This infection is mostly treated in SURGICAL EXCISION
• The surgery is most effective and cure the disease.
9. SYMPTOM:
▪Symptom from rhinosporidiosis can start as son as two
two weeks from exposure
▪The symptom are given below such as :
1. Labored breathing
2. Nasal swelling
3. Running nose
4. Sneezing
5. Wheezing
6. Bloody nose
10. PREVENTION :
✓Avoid bathing in ponds contaminated by
animal feces.
✓Avoid contacted with infected animal
✓Avoid the contact with infected person
✓To maintain the environment in hygienic.
