EXPERIENCE
Icetra (Samgöngustofa/Flugmálastjórn), 2005-2015. Aerospace Engineer in
Development and Analysis office and Flight safety division. Responsibility
over time: quality systems, audits, safety programmes, initial certification,
maintenance management, maintenance programmes, exemptions, and
environmental protection. European and international work with EASA and
ICAO. Teaching courses on quality and safety management within Icetra.
Icelandic Standards, 1997-2005. Project Manager for Quality Management
and Machinery. Supervised work on ISO 9000/14000, EN 45000/1SO 17000
series, IT-standards and the CE mark. Extensive experience in consulting:
New Approach, safety marking, risk assessment, CE-marking of machinery
and medical devices, ISO 9000 and standards in general. Writer and teacher
of numerous courses on the subjects associated with standards and
standardisation. Representing IST in ISO, CEN and CENELEC meetings.
Consulting work in Namibia and Guatemala.
Research Liaison Office, University of Iceland, 1996-1997. Quality manager,
developing a ISO 9001 quality system. Also managing development of the
information system. Involved in European projects like Leonard.
Bakkavor Inc., 1994-1996. Quality assurance manager in an ISO 9002
certified roe processing plant. Also managing of the information system,
production cost analysis, production planning and more production related
items.
Technical Development Inc./Benefish, 1993 – 1994, a pan Nordic project.
Emphasises on increasing utilisation of information technology in fish
processing plants. Co-operation and travel to Scandinavia but have mainly
been stationed at Marel Inc.

Quality Assurance Systems emphasising the series of ISO 9000 standards and HACCP) a
