1. 2002 Deliverables
Responsibilities
Svein was initially responsible for the Signaling upgrade and IN projects. These projects
were both awarded and kicked off in 2002. In June 2002, Svein was asked to lead the
Network Upgrade RFQ and evaluation process. This was a 6 month task that resulted in
DiGi assessing the major vendors in the GSM business, evaluating there technical
capability and recommending a Network SWAP of 470 BTS, 2 MSC, 5 BSC, 2 HLR and
the packet core. In conjunction with this SWAP/Upgrade, DiGi was able to reduce its
CapEx base by 130 million Ringget for 2002.
Sveins initiative and commitment to this project and his leadership of a cross functional---
cross world team could not have been better. DiGi was able to control, evaluate and produce
consistent and transparent information which eventually lead to World Class pricing. This
task was led by Svein and his team which have outperformed the CTOs and Telenor
Procurements expectations.
Svein deserves the rating of OUTSTANDING under the DiGi process which is the highest
rating possible.
