3. MY STORY
My professional life began with a rich marketing career providing me with a strong
foundation prior to transitioning to qualitative research. Upon completing a
Marketing Degree at York University I spent nearly a decade in Consumer Packaged
Goods marketing at numerous international Tier 1 CPG companies including Cadbury
Schweppes, Reckitt Benckiser and Schick Wilkinson Sword.
During these years as a marketer, I gained invaluable experience in brand and category
management in categories including health care, personal care, snack food,
beverages, and condiments. Today I continue to do selective work as a marketer and
strategic thinker in a consultant capacity.
As a qualitative consumer researcher, my strong marketing background differentiates me
from other researchers, as it enables me to understand how consumer insights fit
into and come to life within the context of a business. I approach each project
strategically, and the result is clear, actionable and insightful reporting that fits with
client business needs.

4. MY STORY
My qualitative research experience incorporates a wide variety of projects.
I have worked in a range of categories, including juices, confectionary, skin care,
bread, personal care, education, banking and insurance, toys, travel, alcoholic
beverages, laundry, insulation and many more to uncover various insights through
studies such as exploratory research, ad/creative testing, concept and positioning,
packaging and innovation development. I use a variety of creative projective
techniques, and methodologies including focus groups, mini groups, diads, in-depth-
interviews, ethnography, shop-alongs, online focus groups and online bulletin board
discussion groups (OLBBDGs).
I completed my qualitative researcher training at the RIVA Institute in Washington DC
and am a member of the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA).
I live in Toronto and am working as a qualitative consumer researcher and marketing
consult for the company I founded in January 2008, Get Insight. In my spare time I
enjoy playing tennis, mountain biking, back-country canoeing, cooking and am
always up for a game of poker!
I work with clients in both US and Canada.
