meat recipe and it's ingredients.
The use of social media to spread false allegations has led to
a major problem in this case.
Giants in this industry usually face such reviews and
allegations.
Dominos has faced a similar problem earlier. But it tackled
it's way out.
But Taco Bell is slowly learning.
4. Taco Bell Meat Filling
'Bad publicity' happened to Taco Bell.
A false allegation on the misrepresentation of ingredients and
filling of meat was raised.
"In a case like this Taco Bell needs to do more than issue a
statement on its web site, threaten legal action, and hunker
down to see if it will all blow over", an article read.
The consumers easily started believing in the false information
spread and gradually the meat sale dropped.
The people buying beef reduced from approximately 20% to
11.5%.
That posed a major threat.
5. How did Taco Bell react?
The consumer reaction posed a great challenge in front of
the management.
IT followed the same social media strategies.
IT gave good responses to false allegations in all sorts of
media.
IT soon made a YouTube video stating the ingredients in the
recipe.
The video soon got viral.
7. What was the reply ad?
"Thank you for suing us"
Was the ad circulated by Taco Bell.
By this they meant,
That they had the opportunity to prove their products'
clarity.
They learnt to deal with an outside allegation.
They used passive replies in form of advertisements.
They learnt how media plays an important role in gaining
goodwill of the company.
10. LESSON TO BE LEARNT
Advertising is a key element for a product.
A false allegation has to be tackled with an enormously
better strategy.
A company has to be ready with the history and making of
the product.
A company should not leave anything negligible about the
product/service.
