What is Telemarketing?
“using the telephone to sell directly to customers” (Kotler &
Armstrong 2004, 549).
Telemarketing is the use of telephone and call centers to
attract prospects, sell to existing customers and provide
service by taking orders and answering questions.

Telemarketing was first started by some housewives
calling people and trying to find cookie buyers. At this
point, telemarketing was not used very much.
By 1965, telemarketing was beginning to become more
recognized and telemarketers started to get
professional training.

report published by Counterpoint Technology Market

Industry insiders estimate that more players will enter
the handset market this year
According to the report, the increasing penetration and
declining average selling price (ASP) of the smart handsets
are driving the growth of 3G while Long-Term Evaluation
(LTE) or 4G is yet to go mainstream.
The number of internet users in Bangladesh has now crossed 60 million, according to the latest figures by the
telecoms regulator.
By the end of March this year internet penetration was 61.28 million, up from 58.3 million in February and
56.16 million in January, says Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
During a span of one year since March last year, the number of internet users registered a 38 percent increase.
BTRC data shows that most of the users in Bangladesh access internet through mobile phones.

By 1965, telemarketing was beginning to become more recognized and telemarketers started to get professional training.
