Reference for Stuart Kull
It is my pleasure to provide this reference for Stuart Kull, who has worked with me in the role of
Executive Director – Service Delivery for the past nine months. Unfortunately, due to a restructure of
EDMI’s business in the region, Stuarts’s role will shortly be made redundant. This redundancy should
in no way reflect on Stuart’s credibility nor his performance, which has never been in question during
his time at EDMI.
During Stuart’s time with the business he has proven to be a strategic thinker with the ability to follow
through with the practical implementation of the business decisions made by the executive leadership
team and directors. Collaborative and open, Stuart engages well with both his peers and direct reports
and always responds well to feedback, adjusting his approach to meet the needs of the business.
Stuart, using his accounting background, has recently developed robust departmental financial and
managerial reports and analysis. The data created in these tools will filter into key performance
indicator dashboards on local, regional and group levels. During his tenure, working closely with our
sales department, Stuart has also developed and maintains close personal relationships with his peers
at many of our key clients.
Stuart is a very approachable driver of change with a high level of compassion and empathy towards
employees while maintaining a professional delivery that benefits the business. Stuart has driven high
productivity and efficiency upgrades in our service delivery mechanisms that include just-in-time
logistics, supply chain reengineering, device calibration and modification of electronics in our service
centre. Stuart has, in a short space of time, understood the technical complexities of ISO/IEC 17025
NATA Laboratory accreditation and compliance certification and our complex product line and
assisted in creating more practical and pragmatic methods to assist his staff to manage these
complexities.
Stuart has also been a driver for cultural change within our business. He has championed a strong
ethos of safety first and high quality output for our Service Delivery Group. He has created an
environment that delivers a balance between honest and transparent employee feedback and
empowerment with strong leadership and outcomes based management.
Finally, Stuart has been a significant contributor and executive sponsor in the transition of our logistics
process from an in house model to a more flexible, cost efficient and lower risk outsourced
warehousing process. This project, now fully delivered, has been a critical enabler for the growth of
EDMI in the coming years and it could not have been achieved without Stuart’s leadership and
commitment to EDMI. Ironically, and unfortunately for Stuart, the testament of how successful this
business process re-engineering project has actually been is highlighted by his upcoming redundancy,
and certainly not defined by it.

It is with a deep regret that we at EDMI are losing Stuart’s services due to global financial pressures
outside of our control. We each, Stuart and myself, had big plans for the future of the company
together, and I wish him the greatest success in his next endeavours. I have no fear for Stuart’s future,
as an employee of his calibre are few and far between in today’s market and I know that he will find
a new engagement immediately.
