Does GEOS really matter? It does to Steve Campbell!
1. First things first, have you taken the GEOS yet this year???
Yes! I completed the GEOS survey
on the first day.
2. Do you really think participation
matters? Explain.
Absolutely! I believe participation
matters. I think it’s important to have
the feedback of ALL employees for
our senior leaders. It’s all of our jobs
to weigh in and help drive those key
decisions that impact us and the
patients that we serve.
3. Have you personally seen changes
that resulted from GEOS feedback?
If so, what were they?
From the last GEOS survey, I saw
the birth of the Culture of
Accountability, WLI, a renewed
focus on work-life balance and more
access to career opportunities,
4. We all hear a lot about the Cultural
Belief of Speak Up. Is that a belief
that you really embrace? Can we
get an example?
I feel that Speaking Up is important.
Doing it in the right way, at the right
time and in the right forum
encourages trust, feedback and helps build stronger relationships between everyone. Speaking up
invokes change:

“I communicate openly and respectfully, to engage people on all issues”.
EXAMPLE: David noticed that we were generating a lot of scrap by overfilling the product bin
during line operations. He suggested installing a “Max-Fill” line in the product bin: “DO NOT FILL
ABOVE THIS LINE.” As a result of David’s speaking up and wanting to make it better, the process
had a 35% reduction in scrap from the filling of the product bin.”
Each of us from all functions and levels in Roche has a valuable voice to add!
5. Allegedly, custody of your giant photo cutouts will revert back to you. What do you plan to do
with yours?
Display it in my office at home, and use it as a reminder of how important it is to be a servant leader.
