1. // Overview
I have an extensive background in residential real estate and construction, from
hands on trade skills to construction management. I have spent more than 10 years
involved in real estate projects. Skills that I have been hired for include construction
project management, trade labor, property inspections, and estimating. I also
operate as a landlord and property manager carrying out associated skills like
leasing, maintenance, and accounting on my own properties. I have experience
managing projects from acquisition through to marketing.
My interests are much more varied than real estate alone. I have more than 15
years of experience in writing, performing, recording, producing, and promoting
music. I am currently in a project with my wife and co-creator called NWLYWD. In
2015 we released our first full-length album and organized a three month tour of
the western US in promotion of the album. All of our graphics and web
development were done in house by my wife and myself. Our album was self-
produced at home, and the album art and promotional materials were all designed
by the two of us. Thus, graphic design, web design, and social media marketing
are also among my well practiced skills.
I am also very interested in furthering my education, particularly in the sciences. My
aim is to add a degree in science to my varied list of skills, starting in 2016. I am
also currently writing a book on critical thinking and its impact on our
understanding of important scientific issues like climate change and understanding
the past through radiocarbon dating.
I currently operate as an independent contractor/freelancer, bringing in income
slices from the pie of my different areas of interest.

Houston, and San Antonio. I managed between 10 and 20 contracting groups at a time
on various projects, ensuring that quality, budget, and timeframe were maintained
throughout each project. I was responsible for finding new contracting groups to
account for increased growth, and to build and maintain relationships with vendors and
subcontractors. I used business software such as Salesforce and BuilderTrend. I also
designed spreadsheets and workflows to optimize the company’s efficiency.

I was groomed into the position of managing all of the maintenance on all of the
company’s 79 rental properties. I earned on-site experience in a number of residential
construction trades, while at the same time managing laborers and ensuring the quality
of the jobs as well as tenant satisfaction. I would also help the company with leasing
while on the job sites, providing information for prospective tenants and walking them
through the homes. I also maintained the office’s computer systems and worked with
mobile and desktop hardware. I was with the company until they liquidated their assets
in Las Vegas in 2013.
DRIVER HELPER/PACKAGE DELIVERY, UPS; LAS VEGAS, NV — 11/03-2/04
