The document summarizes the AIHM Interprofessional Ambassador Program. The program aims to promote collaboration across health disciplines and ensure inclusion at the AIHM Annual Conference. Ambassadors are required to attend the conference, participate in discussions, attend monthly meetings, be AIHM members, and promote AIHM in their communities. Benefits of being an ambassador include working with other leaders, complimentary conference tuition, providing input on AIHM initiatives, and being part of transforming healthcare. Nominations are accepted from AIHM members and self-nominations.
2. TRANSformation through
collaboration
Collaboration is at the heart of the AIHM’s mission.
While the AIHM’s roots come from the merging of two
historically MD/DO organizations, we are a now a truly
interprofessional entity. Our transition began three
years ago and our commitment to interprofessionalism
continues to drives our education and engagement
initiatives. A firm belief in equity propelled us to launch
the AIHM Ambassador Program to ensure that our vision
of pluralism and inclusion is actualized at our Annual
Conference and within the Academy at all levels.
We believe that the future of medicine is integrative,
team-based, and interprofessional. To change the current
paradigm, we need to develop new ways of thinking
about established problems and working together.
