What Is Reflexology and
 How Does It Work?
•Reflexology is a natural, non-
invasive healing art based on
the principle that there are
reflexes located in the feet,
hands and ears that correspond
to every part, gland and organ
of the body.
•Through application of pressure
on these reflexes, reflexology
encourages the body to heal
itself naturally without any
adverse side effects
The Plantar View (or bottom)
    Reflexes in your feet
•Every part of your body is
worked on when receiving a
Reflexology Session. Just
think… simply by having your
feet worked on, the entire
body benefits!
The Dorsal, Medial and Lateral view
        (or Top and Sides)
       Reflexes in your feet.
Not only the Plantar of your
foot will be worked, but also
the Dorsal, Lateral and
Medial. Each and every part
needs to be worked in order
to receive maximum benefit
of your session!
YES Reflexology Can Help!
•Our bodies have the ability to
heal itself. Reflexology
encourages our brain to send out
the needed endorphins to bring
about healing.

•Reflexology can help to reduce
stress, tension and improve
circulation
Why should I try Reflexology
give everything available to
you a try? Working
alongside traditional medical
advice, Reflexology gives a
natural non invasive boost to
help your body, mind and soul
function to the best of your
ability!
•During times of illness, stress,
injury or disease, our bodies
become imbalanced and our
vital energy fields are blocked

•Reflexology can help to
restore and maintain the body’s
natural balance and encourage
natural non-invasive healing.
What Happens in a
REFLEXOLOGY Session?
You will be asked to
     sit in an Or
anti-gravity chair lie on a massage table
Take off Your Roll your pants above your
Socks and Shoes knees
Then Relax and Enjoy
Who Can Receive
 Reflexology?
Babies
Children
Everyone from all generations
      and stages in life!
It is believed that Reflexology is over 5,500
                  years old
and can be traced back to Ancient Egypt
as seen on the walls of the physician’s tomb.
How often should I receive
a Reflexology treatment?
In the ideal world, where money is
not an object or concern, you should
receive a treatment for any acute
symptoms, every 24 – 48 hours to
allow released toxins time to be
eliminated from the body without to
much stress.

  •Extremely sharp, severe, intense,
    acute pain
  •rapid onset
For chronic symptoms, at least
once a week. To speed
recovery, the first three
treatments should be received
about 48 hours apart.

  •a persistent and lasting
  disease or medical condition,
  or one that has developed
For overall ongoing health
and healing, it is
recommended to receive a
treatment every three to
four weeks.
Reflexology
     does not replace
   visits, consultations
             or
 medical advice from your
Family Doctor or Specialist.
 Reflexology compliments
   traditional medicine!

Editor's Notes

  1. Good Morning! My name is Donna and I am a Certified Reflexologist. I trained with The Reflexology Association of Canada in 2008 and the course consisted of 110 hours of training broken down into 35 hours of in-class training, 15 hours home study workbook assignments, 60 case studies, a 2 hour written exam and a 1 hour practical exam. My practice continues to grow mostly by word of mouth recommendations as well by offering 10 minute demonstrations at the local Pharmaprix VIP evening and health fairs along with networking whenever and wherever possible.I offer “mobile treatments” which means that I will come to your home to offer you a treatment as well as treatments in my home office and an office on Boul St-Charles north of HWY 40. Naturopath Insurance Receipts are available as well as Gift Certificates. Have you heard about Reflexology?Have you received a Reflexology Treatment? What did you think about your session?
  2. Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes located in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology encourages the body to heal itself naturally without any adverse side effects
  3. As indicated in this picture, (along with my large chart and my feet) each part, gland and organ of the body is represented throughout the foot. Each and every part of the body is worked on during a full reflexology session.
  4. Reflexology can help to reduce stress and tension, help to improve circulation and encourage the body to heal itself naturally without any adverse side effects encouraging homeostasis. The body has the ability to heal itself.Following illness, stress, injury or disease, our body is in a state of “imbalance” and vital energy fields are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. When one part of the body is not functioning properly, the effect is felt throughout the entire body. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural balance and encourage healing.
  5. The client is relaxing in a comfortable position, while the Reflexologist works all the reflex points on both feet. On home visits, I use an anti-gravity chair although in my offices I use a massage table.A full session should take between 45 minutes and 60 minutes. The first session should take approx. an extra 15 minutes in order to take down your client information and to do a complete foot inspection. We do not diagnose, treat a specific illness or prescribe. By working the entire foot, hand or ear, Reflexology encourages a natural healing throughout the entire body by sending out the required endorphins to the areas in need of healing. The only items of clothing that you need to remove are your shoes and socks. You are also asked to roll your pant legs up to your knees.Reflexology is safe for everyone, although the pressure and length of the session may vary for babies, children, the elderly or the extremely ill person.
  6. All healings start from within out, from the head down, and in reverse order as the symptoms have appeared. A person has to want to be healed in order for the healing to be effective.I know that personally, I have found myself verbally saying that I want to be healed of a particular problem, only to find myself metaphorically grabbing it back a day or two after a healing session. When this happens and I become aware of what I have done, I try to discern why I need this problem in my life at the moment. “Let go and Let God” is often more difficult than I had originally thought!
  7. For acute symptoms, every 24 – 48 hours to allow released toxins time to be eliminated from the body without to much stress. Extremely sharp or severe; intense: acute pain; acute relief.)Having a rapid onset and following a short but severe course: acute disease.Afflicted by a disease exhibiting a rapid onset followed by a short, severe course: acute patients. For chronic symptoms, at least once a week. To speed recovery, the first three treatments should be received about 48 hours apart. a persistent and lasting disease or medical condition, or one that has developed slowlyFor overall ongoing health and healing, it is recommended to receive a treatment every three to four weeks.
  8. It is really important to follow your Family Doctor and / or Specialists directions! They are the ones ultimately responsible for your wellbeing.I can not stress enough, however, that proper care and, yes, maintenance of your feet will help to improve your overall health and outlook on life. With all of your body represented in your feet, taking care of them will in the long run, take care of your whole body on all levels of your being.... Soul, Mind and Body!
