The varied selection of shows included
freestyle dancing by a young Omani group
that got everyone’s feet tapping. Other
highlights included an Omani rapper, a
Latino acrobat show, magic show and the
Flydubai, Dubai’s innovative airline,
today announced the start of its new
route to Salalah, expanding its presence
in the Sultanate of Oman. Flights to
Salalah will begin on 21st
May 2013
and operate three times a week on
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Flydubai started operations to the
capital, Muscat, in 2010. The new route
expands Flydubai’s GCC network to 14
destinations, underlining the carrier’s
commitment to supporting business ties
and leisure traffic between Dubai and the
neighbouring region.
Flight Information
Flights to Salalah will operate three
times a week and will commence on
21st
May 2013. FZ093 departs Dubai
Terminal 2 on Tuesdays, Thursdays
and Saturdays at 1620hrs, landing in
Salalah Airport at 1820hrs local time.
The return flight, FZ040, departs at
1920hrs, arriving in Dubai at 2130hrs
local time. Round trip fares from Dubai
to Salalah start at AED 1000 and fares
from Salalah to Dubai start at OMR 105.

2013 promises to be a pivotal year for our
fellow Orascom Development Holding
project in Switzerland, Andermatt Swiss
Alps. Culminating in the opening of its
inaugural 5 superior hotel The Chedi
Andermatt in December, the months
ahead also herald the completion of the
first chalet and 18-hole golf course.
The Andermatt Swiss Alps’ vision
is unique; with an aim to create an
exclusive year-round destination, which
is in keeping with the existing village. On
completion the real estate and lifestyle
offerings at Andermatt will be substantial,
consisting of six hotels in the 4 and 5
sector, 490 apartments in 42 buildings,
Juweira boutique hotel is extending its
wing, 18 apartments that are adjacent
to the hotel and facing the marina will
be opening up soon by the end of Aug
2013. Finishing work is ongoing and will
be completed by June. These apartments
will be operated and serviced by Juweira.
Jebel Sifah was the venue for a spectacular,
one-of-a-kind event over the weekend
drawing close to 2500 people. The evening
was a total entertainer with shows and
activities that kept everyone enthralled
complete with music and food.

SHOW IN DUBAI
Dubai International Boat Show is
the largest, most important and most
established event of its kind in the
region and as one of the fastest growing
leisure marine industry exhibitions in
the world, the 21st edition of the event
took place from 5th till 9th of March.
Muriya participated in the show to
showcase the now operational Jebel
Sifah marina, and the destinations itself
besides its other project Salalah Beach.
Air Arabia announced the increase in
frequency of flights to Salalah from
Sharjah. Effective 8 May, the airline
will offer three flights per week, an
addition of one flight to the existing
schedule. The new flight will depart
on Wednesdays.
Adel Ali, Group Chief Executive
Officer, Air Arabia said: “We will
continue to further expand our
network in the Arab world and beyond,
providing customers with a wider
choice.” During the Salalah Tourism
Festival, the city is frequented by

In the inaugural fishing challenge
organized by the Jebel Sifah Marina, 14
teams tested their skills and vied to haul in
the biggest catch. A total of 50 contestants,
including a team from Holland, competed
as per the IGFA (International Game
Fishing Association) rules, with the
support of the MGFA (Muscat Game
Fishing Association).
Ray Montoya clinched the first spot with
a 7.4kg grouper in the IGFA category
while Hani Macki and Mazin Al Asfoor
landed a 6kg dorado and 5.2kg hammour
respectively. While the teams were very
competitive, it was the fun of the sport and
good spirits that were the highlight of the
competition.
29 year old, Ali Ahmed Yosuf has been
with Muriya as the office boy since 2009
and has been exceptional in his work. Ali
in his years of service has always gone that
extra mile to make things happen.
He has earned a name for being prompt
and finishing a task to perfection. He is
one of those indispensable people. Kudos

An overnight stay at Bandar Khairan was
arranged by Muriya for it’s staff. The event
was an occasion to spend time together,
develop more inter-personal skills and
get competitive with some games and
challenges while camping on the beach.
Evening saw the team around a bonfire,
having a meal, sharing stories and dancing
the night away. The next day was action
packed with games like tug-of-war and
kayaking and later a visual treat with
the dolphins on the boat trip back. It is
moments like these that bring the Muriya
staff even closer as a team.
