Clémence,
corporate social responsibility coordinator
How did you get to join SPIE and what has been your career path?
Clémence: I was studying management assistance in France. As part of my curriculum, I was
required to do a six-week internship abroad. I knew SPIE had locations in many countries so I
applied. My internship with SPIE in the UK was so successful that it quickly led to a second
internship, then a full time job. I started as a graduate business assistant, then worked my way
over the course of ten years, to my current position as CSR coordinator.
What is your opinion on gender diversity at SPIE?
Clémence: SPIE has proven to be very accommodating with employees’ work life balance.
When my first child was born, I was given a lot of flexibility to organise my work schedule.
This was even more so when my second child was born.
Also, as a woman working for a construction company, I can say SPIE is giving the same
opportunities and prospects to women and men alike. I was recently nominated to join the
SPIE Talent program, a two-year development program that aims to put people in leadership
positions and accelerate their career.
What do you like about working for SPIE?
Clémence: What I appreciate the most is the open environment. SPIE is a company that
allows a very open dialog with managers. SPIE is also a company that invests in its people
and provides many training programs and opportunities to allow employees to grow with
the company.
