3. Abstract
The amount of gas leaks in industrial plants that occur each
year is unclear. The majority of these leaks, whether or not
they are acknowledged, get unreported since they do not
directly cause physical harm. Industrial gases are extremely
hazardous to all living organisms. The project’s main purpose
is to detect gas leaks and flames.

Industries with gas leaks suffer terrible consequences in
terms of business, human lives, and the environment. From
the factory unit to the household unit, robotics and
automation have been a vital player in fulfilling and
addressing the evolving requirements of humans. Using IoT,
the proposed solution uses a patrolling robot to handle the
issue of gas leaks. A robot walks independently between
designated nodes and checks for gas leakage. When a leak is
discovered, the person in charge of the industry will be
notified .
5. Aim and Objectives
The aim of the project is to design and construct a robot with following objectives
◎ To develop a patrolling robot without human assistance, which
continuously monitors the gas leakages in industries
◎ To detect fire/flame using flame detectors.
◎ Sends notification to the control room if either of gas leakage or fire is
detected.

The picture depicts fire caught due to leakage of gas. Many
gases when exposed to air results in combustion. This gives
a great impact on industry it may turn the whole industry
into ashes if unnoticed.
The picture depicts leakage of gas in the industries. The
leakage of gas in industries cause a great impact on
workers and people in vicinity. It also cause huge
economic loss
9. Expected Results

The proposed project detects leakage of various gas
by using gas sensors and notifies it to the control
room. It also detects if fire is caught in industry and
informs it to the control room. If any abnormality
occurs either leakage of gas or fire detection it
produce a siren sound to alert near by people. This
project helps to prevent hazardous situation.
10. Conclusion

Thus, the Patrolling Robot discovers a method for identifying gas and
fire leaks in industries, thereby minimizing the enormous losses both
financially and humanly
Future work includes usage of different LED’s to represent Various gas
leakage detection. This helps to easily identify the type of gas leakage
and can further prevent in less time.
