EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS FOR BP IRAQ
AS SOLE MEDICAL PROVIDER FOR BP IRAQ, FRONTIERMEDEX IS PUSHING THE
BOUNDARIES FOR LOCALIZATION IN AN INITIATIVE THAT AIMS TO PROVIDE A
WIDE-REACHING, FULLY LOCALIZED MEDICAL DELIVERY WITHIN 3 TO 5 YEARS.
FrontierMEDEX has exceeded its 6% minimum target for local capacity, now running, developing and
expanding medical delivery for the Rumaila Oil Organization, with more than 60% of roles currently
undertaken by local national staff.
• Following ten months of intensive training, seven local national doctors are now qualified to ACLS
level, the first to achieve this standard in Iraq.
• Three local clinics, growing to five by the end of 2013, are staffed and supplied by FrontierMEDEX,
predominantly with local nationals.
• FrontierMEDEX-developed training has been given to Iraqi ambulance drivers, the first western-
certified qualification of its type in-country.
• Our FrontierMEDEX ambulance supervisor is working to develop a first cohesive ambulance service
to enhance emergency medical delivery.

Editor's Notes It is our desire to assist Tullow to further localise many elements of this project, we have therefore chosen to use as many Turkana as possible
Our Turkana solution adheres to local statutory employment regulations (as per Tullow’s non rotational request for Turkana stated in the clarification call)
21 days leave per annum accrued at 1¾ days per month
6 working days per week
We understand that this leaves gaps in the on-site provision - should Tullow require 24/7 cover of these positions we are happy to develop further models
We need to understand the rationale for use of BLS Medics (we have not received any clarification on our request for a SOW for this position)
BLS is our interpretation of their ‘ Basic Paramedic’ terminology
Have these positions have been added in to boost localisation numbers, especially considering the high costs of training? If so, we may be able to offer a more effective solution, especially since our understanding is that site populations run from 50-500 people, so there is no rationale to have this many medical personnel at each site. This potentially puts us on track to provide the successful EMT-P trainees in place on the ALS Expat paramedics a year ahead of the ITT requirement, starting Feb 2016. (ITT requirement was by end of contract period – ie Feb 2017) Due to the delay in contract start date, and the increased risk of hitting the rainy season, it may impact on the delivery timings to site. Standardised service to international oil and gas standards
Industry leading topside support = reduced evacuations
