sport festival, with a two-day sale offering a wide range of spectacular classics and
automobilia items.
120 best-of-breed classics and modern sports cars have been selected for the sale,
with everything from timeless classics from eras gone by, to iconic modern classics
as well as future classics, worthy of the finest collections. In fact, with the selection
ranging from 1934 to 2015, there’s a special opportunity here for almost every taste
and preference, so do take your time to inspect the lots and their history files, which are
available on request.
Silverstone Auctions will also be participating in the activities in memory of the late
Henry Hope-Frost, a close friend of Silverstone Auctions. A special selection of motor
sport items pledged by various F1 teams, drivers, sponsors and motorcycle racing
personalities will be auctioned as part of our two-day automobilia sale over the
weekend. All funds raised will go towards supporting Henry’s family, so please do bid
generously.
We hope you have a truly memorable experience with us at Silverstone, and if you
require any guidance regarding the auction process, please do not hesitate to approach
a member of staff who are on hand to assist you.
And if you’re thinking of selling, our next sales are not far away, with the Porsche Sale
and September sale taking place in just a few weeks’ time at Dallas Burston Polo Club,
followed by our season closing auction at the NEC Classic Motor Show in November.
Finally, I would like to say thank you for attending and I look forward to seeing you
again at one of our upcoming auctions.

HHF ‘Family Fever’
Charity Auction.
It is with great poignancy that we offer some words of introduction
to the HHF Family Fever Auction lots here at the Silverstone Classic
in 2018. After all, only 12 months ago Henry was here with us all in
person; a high-octane bundle of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge
bestriding the two Silverstone Paddocks with incisive interviews,
commentary and wit.
Sadly we lost Henry in a road accident in March of this year, and only
in his passing do we realise how much we loved and appreciated him.
Whether you were a competitor, an enthusiastic spectator, a casual
acquaintance, or a close friend, listening to and talking with HHF about
motorsport made you enjoy and love our sport just that little bit more.
Quite simply, Henry Hope-Frost was ‘Mr Fever’ and it is with huge
gratitude to so many in the motorsport community that there is such a
fantastic trove of auction lots, generously contributed, and offered by
Silverstone Auctions at the 2018 Silverstone Classic.
Thank you for looking at these lots, which have been donated to
provide practical help for the HHF family and, please, remember
the words that Henry himself would have used to describe his own
reaction to these auction lots: ‘trouser trouble’!

by Jonathan Giacobazzi, whose family wine brand
has long been associated with Scuderia Ferrari –

Belgian GP the Giacobazzi family retained many
signed items in its extensive collection of Ferrari and
Villeneuve memorabilia. Jonathan, who himself now
works for the Ferrari communications department,
has donated no fewer than four personally signed
Villeneuve items from the family’s unique collection,
