Dear to whom it may Concern:
At an early age my father used to say that when great passion meets exceptional athleticism, magic
can happen. My passion for swimming, soccer or any sport I was playing at the time helped me to
always do my best and perform at a high level. I have this same passion for the field of sports
marketing and business.
I have been a swimmer on the USC Trojan swim team for the past 2 ½ years but recently had season
ending shoulder surgery. This has given me the opportunity to focus on another passion and apply
myself to work this spring and summer. Growing up as a student athlete I have learned how to handle
a busy schedule with my time management skills. I have learned to work well within a team or
individually if needed. I see myself as a proactive, driven, leader, positive, independent, devoted,
competitive, organized, intelligent, and trustworthy woman.
I grew up as one of three daughters. My father had a love of sports—playing them, coaching and
understanding them. Both of my parents have a love of sports, competitive spirit and passion for
training. My father was my coach on the soccer field and my educator whenever watching any
sport on TV. Playing sports and swimming at a division 1 school, along with my parent’s sports
knowledge tutelage, have given me a good understanding of the inside emotion of sports. I am
combining this knowledge with the foundation I am building by studying communications and
marketing at USC. I am ready to go to work, contribute and learn.
Sincerely,
Sidney Cooke
