Mother's Day is celebrated in many countries as a day to honor mothers and motherhood. The tradition originated in ancient Greece and Rome, and was later celebrated as Mothering Sunday in the UK. While dates vary around the world, Mother's Day is commonly celebrated in spring, especially the second Sunday in May. In India, celebrating Mother's Day on this date is a very new tradition.
