Communication
• Harsha and Franklin- post graduates from different streams.
• Both got placed in the same organization but different
departments.
• Franklin’s responsibility was more as he was in the finance
department compared to Harsha who got placed in the HR
department.
• Nature:
• Harsha- Friendly in nature and ready to help the needy.
• Franklin- Silent in nature ready to help if approached personally
and always a bit egoistic in nature.
• They have successfully completed 4 years in the organization.
And management was very much satisfied with both of them as
they are equally talented and constant performers.
• Harsha felt behavioral change in Franklin as he kept taunting
her.
• Mr. Mehta was shocked when he received a mail from Franklin
regarding his resignation which left Harsha in shock too.
Summary
1. Reasons that Mr. Mehta would have given to Franklin.
• Recognizing Harsha at canteen-
True, Franklin has more responsibilities than Harsha, but when it
comes to direct connection with employees, Harsha gains the
attention- nature of job profile
• Wishes from Security at gate-
Harsha works as an HR counsellor and interacts with employees on a
daily basis. She solves the issues of employee who comes to her.
• Recognition at meeting-
Harsha points would be relevant to employees or from the
perspective of employees, which management is interested in
learning about so they appreciate her input.
Analysis of the study
 Employee recognition gap- due to nature of profile-
HR and finance
 Culture- No cross functional communication,
 Suggestions in meeting that is holistic in nature and
not only domain oriented
 The personality also mattered because Harsha is an
extrovert and she is very open and much more friendly
with the employees. So, she has more attention from
everyone in the organization, whereas Franklin is silent
and an introvert.

It utilizes the spoken word, either face-to-face or remotely.
Franklin- Diagonal Communicational, Recognized Insecure
Harsha- helpful, empathy
2. Non-verbal communication:
provides some insight into a speaker’s word choice
Franklin-He is not recognized as well as Harsha, jealous,
introvert
