Summary
I am seeking a position as a structural engineer in order to enhance my knowledge and become more proficient in the structural
engineering industry. I am a detail oriented problem solver, and a diligent worker with two years of experience in structuraldesign.
I excel in team collaborations as well as individual tasks.
Work Highlights
Partners In Building (Multiple - Single Family Homes) Houston, Texas
I was in charge of designing shear walls for 1 and 2 story homes. I used Simpson strong walls, and APA Portal Frames
to resolve any shear issues.
Westin Homes (Multiple - Single Family Homes) Houston, Texas
I was in charge of redesigning shear walls and framing to address changes in elevations for single family homes.
Aspen Lincoln NE (High Density) Lincoln, Nebraska
Designed wood beams and columns. Calculated wind and earthquake loads to resist the lateral loads on the project for
non-stacking shear walls.
Solea Stone Oak (High Density) San Antonio, Texas
Designed wood and steel members in a 3/4 split structure. I completed the lateral load and bearing wall analysis on the
project and designed shear walls and stud spacing. I was in charge of designing non-stacking shear wall conditions with
multiple firewalls. I assisted in the design of the retaining wall and foundation layout which included expansion joints.
Coordinated with architect to provide solutions to MEP layout conflicts.
NXNE (Garden Variety) Austin, Texas
I was in charge of designing the post tension foundation on multiple expansive soil conditions. I coordinated with
consultants to ensure the necessary changes to foundation details.
PRT Mixed Use (High Density) Cedar Park, Texas
Efficiently designed multiple cantilevered beams to remain within limits for uplift on wood members. Designed post
tension foundation for the 4/5 split building. Coordinated non stacking shear wall locations any necessary structural
changes with the architect.
WM Fayetteville (Bighouses & E-Urban) Fayetteville, Arkansas
Coordinated shear wall solutions for use of firewalls in Bighouses. Explored shear wall options for the client which
included portalframes and Simpson strong walls. Calculated seismic and wind analysis for E-Urban and Bighouses and
completed shear walls.
Academic Highlights
01.2011 – 05.2011 | Research Assistant
Researched cement fineness of Portland cement and its effect on theheat of hydration. Assisted in compiling and analyzing data to
correlate the relationship between cement fineness and thermal cracking in order to more accurately predict cement performance.
Assisted in literary writing of cement properties.
01.2011 – 05.2011 | Project Manager (Anna Maria Island Bridge Design)
Managing a group of seven peers, organized communication processes by scheduling on-line and in-person meetings. Scheduled
and assigned tasks, performed quality control checks, and collaboratively worked with team members to draft conceptual and final
design submittals and presentation.
08.2011 – 05.2011 | Member of Concrete Canoe and Concrete Cube Team ASCE-USF Chapter;
Participated in the design and construction of concrete canoe for the annual American Society of Civil Engineers Eastern Regional
Competition. Also placed 3rd
place for Concrete Cube regional competition.
Honors and Awards: USF Presidential Scholarship, Awarded from 2006-2009
Florida Bright Futures – 100%, Awarded from 2006-2011
Engineering Heart of Gold Recipient, Awarded 2011
