2. The Problem
• Razor blades constantly build up hair, as
a result, it needs to be rinsed which can
be difficult and time consuming. Also,
there is a drawback that the blades will
accumulate hair and dead skin, which is
unsanitary and interferes with cutting.
3. Target Market and Opportunity.
• EPA estimated 2 Billion razor blades were
tossed away each year.
• Share of U.S. Consumers who purchased
razor blades online were 7.6%
• Average purchase per consumer is 18.69
• The shaving industry is a $13 Billion a
year market.
4. The Solution
• A razor blade that allows water to easily flow and rinse
without compromising effectiveness of the shave. I have
invented a function that allows the user to temporarily
adjust the position of the blade to allow effective
cleaning. This function allows the end user to clean the
blade seamlessly and preserve the sharp integrity of the
blade. There will not be a need for tapping the blade in
the sink, this also contributes to a cleaner shave since
the blade is not in contact with bacteria from the sink. My
product will make the ritual of shaving easier, faster, and
save the consumer money.
5. Revenue Model
• Sell razors direct to consumer through
website.
• Sell wholesale to retailers.
6.
7. Traction and validation.
• Harry’s is valued at $750 Million. The first
$100 million they raised was spent on
purchasing a factory in Germany.
• Dollar Shave Club sold to Unilever for $1
Billion.
8. Sales Strategy
• My background is in Business
Development. I have helped other
Startups and businesses get accounts
with retail stores, hotels, restaurants, and
grocery stores. I know the ins and outs of
distribution and also getting into store
shelves and staying there all by myself.
With my background and experience I can
make this razor blade a success.
9. Financials.
• I have spent around $23,000 on Lawyers
fees, hiring freelance engineers, and
animators, and prototypes.
11. Competition.
Nothing like this exists in the market and there are no
alternatives. This razor is more efficient, clean and eco
friendly. A potential end user would choose this razor
because of the hair and debris clogging the razor
causing poor quality shaves.
The competition of razor blades would be:
- Gillette.
- Schick.
- Dollar Shave Club.
- Paceshaver.
- Harry’s.
12. Investment
• I’m seeking $1,000,000 to hire another engineer
to create a more functional design so I can
present it to the Manufacturer in order to
purchase inventory. This project is the
development stage so the funding is seed
money which goes to the following
-Product Development.
-Packaging.
-First run on production (inventory of razors).
