INTRODUCATION
 Hospitality industry can be defined and understood as an industry
which provides facility for stay. Food and complete related services
for the comfort and leisure of the travelers and vistors. The
hospitality industry is the part of the service industry and is
compried of 5 major sub- sectors which include accommodation
service (hotels,b&bs,resorts ,hotels,motels etc) food &beverage
service,events,tourism& transportation and entertainment. At its
core,the hospitality industry concerns itself with providing products
and services to people which assist in recreation and supporting the
well- being of people. It includes different activities,which the main
goal is to provide service and customers satisfaction.
 The hospitality industry is vast and can be
broken down into separate sectors. The top
four sectors are
 Lodging –accommodation
 Food and beverage
 Travel and tourism
 Entertainment industry
 The accommodation industry and the segment of hospitality
is mainly associated with providing a temporary place for
guests,vistors,tourists and travelers to stay.accommodation
is the most basic and fundametal aspect of hospitality as a
industry. There are various sub segemnets within this which
are according to the type of accommodation and services
associated with these.
 Lodging : when people travel from one place to the
other,they need a place to sleep,a sheiter which will keep
them safe from the atrocities of nature.this results in people
booking lodges and rooms for their stay.
 Hotels:this is first and the most prominent part of the
accommodation and also of the hospitality industry. Hotels
are the most preferred place to stay for the travelers and
tourists. This is to much extent due to the range of
services,qualit and comfort provided by the hotels.
Restaurants
restaurants provide range of food,drinks and services along with a palce to eat within the
same premise.while restaurants are mainly meant for `customers to come ,order and eat
,some also provide take away food services.
Hotels
Hotels also provide restaurant like site,order and eat facility.accommodation and its
services.
Catering
catering service are food services provdied within a particular site,or in more remote
location,where food and drink are not nesessarily the main service provided. Examples
of this include catering provided at parks,arenas,stadiums,hotels,event venues and on
certain forms of public transport.
Bars
Bars are places where people come to drinks , food ,spent some time and.bars usually
provide a varirty of alcoholic drinks ,as well as soft drinks and juices. They also provide
light food or snacks to be take with the drinks.some bars also provide enteraiment for
the guests while they are enjoying their drinks.
Cafe
Cafes provide hot drinks like tea and coffee along with soft drinks and light food or snacks .
 There are a lot of sub-sectors within the food
service industry.

 Business and industrial catering
 Leisure and outdoor catering
 Hotels
 Casinos
 Bars and pubs
 A lot consider tourism synonymous with
hospitality and not as a different sector of the
hospitality industry .travel and tourism
industry is a vastsector of the hospitality
industry with several key players across the
globe. Most of them include trains ,airline
,cruise ships ,and several crew members in
their service .
 It is huge domain which demands
innovation,strategy,and novelty at each step.
 Enterainment is a significant part of our travel these days.if your
travelling experience lacks fun and enterainment then you might not be
able to enjoy your time up to the fullet. so., for the successful running of
hospitality businesses,it is important to have in the kitty as many
entertaimnet activites as possible . Bellow some :-
 Marinas : marinas are one of the most popular palces to go when it comes
to partying .you can get along with your friends on a private yacht where
you can dance ,playgames and enjoy the best of your life.
 Sports and gaming:- sports and gaming is a basic thing which people are
looking for on thier travel . As a result ,casinos ,swimming pools ,and
other similar actvities are becoming an indispenable part of the
hospitality sector.
 Cruise :- now people like to spend thier days on luxury ships which sail
across the blue oceans under the clear sky .
 Nightclubs /bars :-hotesl have nightclubs and bars who doesnot love to
dance to thier favourite song when on a break,and in the bars having a
couple of drinks with friends for chillouts and mind relax and refreshing
experience .

 1. COMMUNICATION
>communicating clearly and professionally
through your speech,writing and body languge
is essential to good customer service in
hospitality. In a customer –facing and team –
oriented role,everything you say and do must
communicate a positive,constructive message
that enchance the customer’s experience and
enables your team to work together efficiently .
 3.initiative
 In hospitality,initiative means actively responding to
customers’needs and pulling your own weight ,and its a skill that
both impresses customers and makes work easier for everyone .
You will need to rely on your own instincts and knowledge to
handle unfamiliar situations or tasks,rather then depend on others
or decide that you cant help.repsonding in proactive way shwos
willigness to go above and beyond and that you’re competent in
your role,which instils trust.
 4. multitasking
 .the best way to hone your multitasking ablities is through
practice. It will help you gauge your limits and understand how to
divide your time wisely.howerver ,the way you put it into practice
is up to you . You may benefit from a notedapd to write things
down or by mentally visualising the order in which you’re going
to do things .you should also communicate with others ,as
teamwork canalleviate some of the pressure of multitasking.
 5. adaptabiltiy
 A career in hospitality often involves dealing with
unpredictability.your shifts may regularly
change,customers may have requests or attitudes that
you dont know how to handle ,and odd jobs around
the place may constantly need doing .your ability to
adapt is closely connected to your multitasking
capilities.
 6.attention to details
 Good attention to details will keep service flowing
smoothly and customers pleased with the environment
.before long ,it will become habits for you to keep
yourself busy and never leave or enter a room without
your hands full.
 7.Cultural awareness
 In the hospitality your are going to have customers
and colleagues from all walks of life –respact for
all cultural and understood general cultural
knowledge.
 8.Compliance training
 No matter how skilful u r in other areas,if you
want to work in hospitality you need to receive
certain types of traning to comply with the
law.furhermore you will feel confident and
qualified in your role,which customers and
colleagues will pick up on and respect.

  • 2.  Hospitality industry can be defined and understood as an industry which provides facility for stay. Food and complete related services for the comfort and leisure of the travelers and vistors. The hospitality industry is the part of the service industry and is compried of 5 major sub- sectors which include accommodation service (hotels,b&bs,resorts ,hotels,motels etc) food &beverage service,events,tourism& transportation and entertainment. At its core,the hospitality industry concerns itself with providing products and services to people which assist in recreation and supporting the well- being of people. It includes different activities,which the main goal is to provide service and customers satisfaction.
  • 3.  The hospitality industry is vast and can be broken down into separate sectors. The top four sectors are  Lodging –accommodation  Food and beverage  Travel and tourism  Entertainment industry

  • 5.  The accommodation industry and the segment of hospitality is mainly associated with providing a temporary place for guests,vistors,tourists and travelers to stay.accommodation is the most basic and fundametal aspect of hospitality as a industry. There are various sub segemnets within this which are according to the type of accommodation and services associated with these.  Lodging : when people travel from one place to the other,they need a place to sleep,a sheiter which will keep them safe from the atrocities of nature.this results in people booking lodges and rooms for their stay.  Hotels:this is first and the most prominent part of the accommodation and also of the hospitality industry. Hotels are the most preferred place to stay for the travelers and tourists. This is to much extent due to the range of services,qualit and comfort provided by the hotels.

Restaurants restaurants provide range of food,drinks and services along with a palce to eat within the same premise.while restaurants are mainly meant for `customers to come ,order and eat ,some also provide take away food services. Hotels Hotels also provide restaurant like site,order and eat facility.accommodation and its services. Catering catering service are food services provdied within a particular site,or in more remote location,where food and drink are not nesessarily the main service provided. Examples of this include catering provided at parks,arenas,stadiums,hotels,event venues and on certain forms of public transport. Bars Bars are places where people come to drinks , food ,spent some time and.bars usually provide a varirty of alcoholic drinks ,as well as soft drinks and juices. They also provide light food or snacks to be take with the drinks.some bars also provide enteraiment for the guests while they are enjoying their drinks. Cafe Cafes provide hot drinks like tea and coffee along with soft drinks and light food or snacks .

Most of them include trains ,airline ,cruise ships ,and several crew members in their service .  It is huge domain which demands innovation,strategy,and novelty at each step.
  • 9.  Enterainment is a significant part of our travel these days.if your travelling experience lacks fun and enterainment then you might not be able to enjoy your time up to the fullet. so., for the successful running of hospitality businesses,it is important to have in the kitty as many entertaimnet activites as possible . Bellow some :-  Marinas : marinas are one of the most popular palces to go when it comes to partying .you can get along with your friends on a private yacht where you can dance ,playgames and enjoy the best of your life.  Sports and gaming:- sports and gaming is a basic thing which people are looking for on thier travel . As a result ,casinos ,swimming pools ,and other similar actvities are becoming an indispenable part of the hospitality sector.  Cruise :- now people like to spend thier days on luxury ships which sail across the blue oceans under the clear sky .  Nightclubs /bars :-hotesl have nightclubs and bars who doesnot love to dance to thier favourite song when on a break,and in the bars having a couple of drinks with friends for chillouts and mind relax and refreshing experience .

In a customer –facing and team – oriented role,everything you say and do must communicate a positive,constructive message that enchance the customer’s experience and enables your team to work together efficiently .

It will help you gauge your limits and understand how to divide your time wisely.howerver ,the way you put it into practice is up to you . You may benefit from a notedapd to write things down or by mentally visualising the order in which you’re going to do things .you should also communicate with others ,as teamwork canalleviate some of the pressure of multitasking.
  • 13.  5. adaptabiltiy  A career in hospitality often involves dealing with unpredictability.your shifts may regularly change,customers may have requests or attitudes that you dont know how to handle ,and odd jobs around the place may constantly need doing .your ability to adapt is closely connected to your multitasking capilities.  6.attention to details  Good attention to details will keep service flowing smoothly and customers pleased with the environment .before long ,it will become habits for you to keep yourself busy and never leave or enter a room without your hands full.
