3. Project Description : AL YUSR – Loan Management Solution (based on Islamic banking)
AL YUSR is finance company located in ‘Saudi Arabia’, lending loan is one of their primary businesses in the global
market.
There are three parts of the ‘Loan Management Solution’
Loan Origination System (LOS)
Loan Management System (LMS)
Loan Collection System (LCS)
Loan Origination System (LOS): Customer approaches to the company to pursue a loan for various goods like vehicle,
heavy instruments, white goods etc. LOS is a system which defines starting phase of lending loan to the customer. The
company already has collaborations with goods companies, thus ‘ALYUSR’ acts as a lender as well as goods provider.
For each customer system generates unique application number. In its initial stages LOS covers all the essential
information of a customer that need to be considered for disbursement of a loan, e.g. financial stability, liabilities,
collaterals, income sources, family backgrounds of customers. If the results of these initial stages are acceptable to the
company, then system defines repayment EMI structure taking customer’s perspective into account. At the end of all the
stages customer receives delivery of all the goods for which he is lending a loan.
Loan Management System (LMS): After completing LOS successfully application moves to next phase i.e. LMS. This
phase is meant for managing accounts at customer level as well as at organization level. LMS is the phase where actual
accounting entries are fired in the system. In various modules of LMS, banking processes are incorporated e.g. debit -
credit transactions, batch (cash, credit, cheque etc.) processes, day begin – day end process, maintaining payable and
receivable accounts etc. Internal accounts of the organization (AL YUSR) are also maintained here. Accounts for the
customers are tracked only until repayment of loan is complete.
Loan Collection System (LCS): This phase is designed for recovering payments from customer against their loan account.
Loan collection process involves tracking of defaulters (customers who are failed to pay their EMI on due date). Defaulters
are informed about their dues with the help of various mediums e.g. sms, phone calls, e-mails etc. Company has rights to
repossess the good if recovery of a payment does not get carried out, also company can auction the repossessed goods,
this track is maintained at LCS. ALYUSR can legally file a court case against defaulter.
