S. Shariq Yosufzai is Vice President, Global Diversity, Ombuds and University Partnerships,
Chevron Corporation, a position he has held since 2013. He is responsible for Chevron’s
Diversity & Inclusion and Ombuds functions and provides oversight for University Partnerships
and strategic relationships with Professional Societies and Institutes.
Among his significant previous positions, Shariq served as President of Chevron Global
Marketing for seven years where he was responsible for leading Chevron's fuels marketing,
commercial and industrial marketing, and convenience retailing operations across 90 countries
and supporting three world class brands (Chevron, Texaco and Caltex). In 2003, he assumed the
responsibility of co-leading Chevron Products Company, responsible for Chevron’s North
America Refining and Marketing Operations
Shariq also served as President, Global Lubricants, upon the formation of ChevronTexaco in
October 2001, responsible for manufacturing, blending, sales & marketing of base oils,
lubricants and coolants to customers worldwide. Previous to this, he served as Corporate Vice
President of Caltex Corporation and President of Lubricants & New Business Development and
earlier in his career he was President of Texaco Lubricants Company.
Immediately prior to assuming his current position, Shariq served as Vice President, Chevron
Corporation supporting Chevron’s CEO & Chairman on the National Petroleum Council (NPC)
‘Future Fuels’ Study. He served as Chair of the Chevron-led Supply & Infrastructure Task Group
and as Decision Executive on Downstream Portfolio Projects worldwide.
Shariq is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He was awarded The
Robert L. Jacks Memorial Award by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Management
Division in 1995, and was named Lubricants World magazine's "Person of the Year" in 1996. In
1998, he was named a Distinguished Graduate of the Chemical Engineering Department of
2. Texas A&M. In 1999, he was named both the Outstanding International Alumnus and a
Distinguished Alumnus of Texas A&M University. In 2011, he was named an Outstanding
Alumnus of the College of Engineering at Texas A&M. In 2012, “Upwardly Global” named
Yosufzai the 2012 Outstanding Corporate Leader for his contributions to Diversity and Economic
Development in California.
He is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the California Chamber of Commerce and a Past
Chair of the Board of Directors of The Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University.
He currently serves on the boards of the San Francisco Opera and Cal Performances, is Vice-
Chair of the AIChE Foundation Board of Trustees, is an Advisory Board Member of the National
Council of La Raza and is a member of the SCF Board of Trustees of the NAACP Engineering
Department of Texas A&M. In 1999, he was named both the Outstanding International Alumnus
and a Distinguished Alumnus of Texas A&M University. In 2011, he was named an Outstanding
Alumnus of the College of Engineering at Texas A&M. In 2012, “Upwardly Global” named
Yosufzai the 2012 Outstanding Corporate Leader for his contributions to Diversity and Economic
Development in California.
He currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the California Chamber
of Commerce and is an Executive Committee Member of the San Francisco Opera’s Board of
Directors.
