I am writing this letter of recommendation for Sergey Tkachenko (Serge) who had worked for Express Fire
Systems, Inc. under my supervision as an Intern for College Credit(s).
I found working with Serge a great pleasure. Serge position was to take the load off me by taking on some of
the smaller projects and some record keeping. At the end of his Intern I was hoping to take the week of
Christmas off and have him cover for me. I am glad to say that I was comfortable having him covering me
for 3 full continues days. I did not come back to work to chaos he did well.
Serge listened when I have was giving him instruction, after receiving the instruction he would go and either
do the task or try for a bit and if he was not able to figure out how to do it than he would ask me questions. I
liked that he was always willing to try to figure things out on his own but not for too long. I had asked him to
do certain tasks every time he came in to work and he did not forget to do them.
Serge went beyond the basic Tenant Improvements that I predicted for him stay at. Serge actually was able to
draw the Fire Sprinklers for a 3 story apartments to the 60% stage of the project.
By the end of the 90 hours Serge had showed such potential that we offered him a position in the Fire
Protection world, Serge politely declined and said his heart was in the Architectural world. I hope that he is
able to bring the knowledge he had learned here at Express Fire Systems to his Architectural career because
the two are entwined.
