Treatment and Rehabilitation
Designed and Implemented, Native American Choices the largest Native American substance use/mental health
treatment and rehabilitation program in the United States. Native American Choices has been featured in city,
county, state, national and International publications and news articles.
Designed and Implemented, Baja Choices in Tijuana, Mexico. Baja Choices –Una Nueva Vision is one of the largest
Substance Use/Mental Health Treatment and Rehabilitation programs in Baja California. My work for three years in
Baja California, Mexico utilized my success with Native American Choices to develop a unique program that serves
“Special Needs” participants. Native Americans Indians of California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas have tribal
ties to the Indians of Northern Mexico. Native Mexican Indians face extreme forms of predigest throughout society,
and are one of the greatest populations of under/non-served ethnic populations in Mexico.
Traveled and Planned Conferences on the Navajo, Zuni, Mescalero, Sandia, Choctaw, and Acoma Pueblo
Reservations. Met with the substance use/behavioral health treatment staff and introduced Native American Choices
as a treatment and rehabilitation model producing superior positive outcomes.
Outreach and Engagement
Designed and Built, Mobile Community Outreach Vehicle utilizing a full-sized Ford van and a modified 25’ travel
trailer. The trailer was licensed and certified by the City of Long Beach and the State of California. Fully contained
trailer included computer stations (Mobile Internet), projection screens, private counseling areas, and outside
covered area of 200 sq. ft. for engagement of American Indians at festivals, fairs, Pow Wows, community
celebrations. The trailer proved extremely popular and was nicknamed the Pow Wow Wagon.
Organized Event, Gathered, and Distributed” Despensas” (necessities of life – food boxes) and “Regalos”
(presents). This was a three year outreach project to the resource-limited Native Mexican-American residents of
Tijuana.
Organized Event, Gathered, and Distributed, Neighborhood Posada Project– “At Risk” Children of Native Mexican-
Americans in Tijuana; closed the street and hosted: presents, activities, and food for over 300 children and families.
Participated in the Annual Long Beach Gay Pride Festival utilizing the mobile outreach vehicle for the outreach and
engagement of “At Risk” youth.
Workforce Development
Developed and Implemented, Native American Choices Work Experience Program, Certified by the CA Department
of Postsecondary Education. Native American Choices Substance Use/Mental Health Treatment and Rehabilitation
Program maintained over eighty-five percent Native American employment standard.
Community Collaboration
Sponsored a celebration to honor the life and work of an American Indian spiritual healer and an American Indian
community elder.

My work for three years in Baja California, Mexico utilized my success with Native American Choices to develop a unique program that serves “Special Needs” participants. Native Americans Indians of California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas have tribal ties to the Indians of Northern Mexico. Native Mexican Indians face extreme forms of predigest throughout society, and are one of the greatest populations of under/non-served ethnic populations in Mexico.
  • 7. Traveled and Planned Conferences on the Navajo, Zuni, Mescalero, Sandia, Choctaw, and Acoma Pueblo Reservations. Met with the substance use/behavioral health treatment staff and introduced Native American Choices as a treatment and rehabilitation model producing superior positive outcomes. Outreach and Engagement Designed and Built, Mobile Community Outreach Vehicle utilizing a full-sized Ford van and a modified 25’ travel trailer. The trailer was licensed and certified by the City of Long Beach and the State of California. Fully contained trailer included computer stations (Mobile Internet), projection screens, private counseling areas, and outside covered area of 200 sq. ft. for engagement of American Indians at festivals, fairs, Pow Wows, community celebrations. The trailer proved extremely popular and was nicknamed the Pow Wow Wagon. Organized Event, Gathered, and Distributed” Despensas” (necessities of life – food boxes) and “Regalos” (presents). This was a three year outreach project to the resource-limited Native Mexican-American residents of Tijuana. Organized Event, Gathered, and Distributed, Neighborhood Posada Project– “At Risk” Children of Native Mexican- Americans in Tijuana; closed the street and hosted: presents, activities, and food for over 300 children and families. Participated in the Annual Long Beach Gay Pride Festival utilizing the mobile outreach vehicle for the outreach and engagement of “At Risk” youth. Workforce Development Developed and Implemented, Native American Choices Work Experience Program, Certified by the CA Department of Postsecondary Education. Native American Choices Substance Use/Mental Health Treatment and Rehabilitation Program maintained over eighty-five percent Native American employment standard. Community Collaboration Sponsored a celebration to honor the life and work of an American Indian spiritual healer and an American Indian community elder.
