My career with General Motors
Assist 34 dealerships stock the proper mix of vehicles to adjust for market conditions and seasonal variations. Wholesale of Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, and GMC products. Ensure that my 34 dealerships exceed their sales objectives which in-turn allows them to order more product from General Motors Overview of what I do
Grew market share from 28.7% to 30.6% while GM’s market share shrank 1.5%.
Carefully monitoring changes in market conditions as a direct result of fuel prices and overall economy. The price of fuel has an almost inverse relationship to the sale of small, fuel efficient vehicles. Deteriorating economy calls for a change from high-content vehicles to more basic transportation. Planning well in advance of seasonal changes to make sure dealers sell inventory that is not appropriate for upcoming season. Being fully stocked with vehicles such as Corvettes early in the spring and four wheel drive trucks in the winter, etc. How did I do this?
Since being hired, I have been responsible for assisting dealers in selling $99,930,000.
Responsible for achieving a cumulative sales objective of 102.2% versus the National District Manager average of 86.9%.
My sales objective for 2008 placed me in the top 89thpercentile of 96 District Manager in the Mid-West.
For December, 2008, I was the #1 District Manager in the Country based on sales objective.
Farmers do their taxes at the end of the year in December.  As a result, they often have to spend money on farming expenses to avoid paying higher taxes. I used this knowledge to console my dealers in stocking as many “farm-type” trucks as they could for December. December is a time when the new model year of trucks are coming out. Last year’s model often has more incentives to help close sales.  I made sure that my dealers had a much higher ratio of the previous model year to take advantage of this. How was this done?....Proper Timing
