instruction, curriculum, hiring/recruitment, and professional development. I am a strong
communicator offering support to novice and experienced teachers alike. Being a dynamic

background in differentiated instruction, flexible grouping, Socratic instruction, workshop
method, and data driven instruction has fueled my vision towards best practices in education.
Working as an academic coach, professional development facilitator, and researcher has

During my time at AIS I collaborated with teachers, principals, and support staff in reading
and writing. Together we created comprehensive vertically aligned assessments in reading
and writing, a writing continuum consistent with our report card, benchmark paper portfolios
and, running record data collection that drives instruction. These efforts created a student
body that performed at the top of the world in MAP scores. I led multiple weeklong
professional development sessions with teachers and administration that focused on how to
make our teaching points better, and how to get more value out of our conferring. In four
short years we raised our reading and writing scores by 20% while fostering an atmosphere
of excitement and rigor in language arts.
