Midsouth Cultural Resource Consultants is a new firm
serving archaeological, historical, and cultural
compliance needs. Strategically located in Manchester,
Tennessee, Midsouth Cultural Resource Consultants
provides high quality cultural resource services
throughout the Southeast U.S.
Our goal is to guide our clients through the cultural
resource process to fulfill compliance prerequisites
including Section 106 of the National Historic
Preservation Act as well as other federal, state,
and local regulations.

J. Scott Jones, M.A., R.P.A. Mr. Jones can be

Mr. Jones obtained his bachelors degree from Middle
Tennessee State University in 1992 and a masters of
arts degree from Oregon State University in 1997.
Currently, Mr. Jones has completed all classwork and
qualifying exams for the doctorate of philosophy at the
University of Kentucky. Mr. Jones is a native of middle
Tennessee and is exceptionally familiar with the
archaeology, history, and geography of the Midsouth
region.
Mr. Jones specializes in Southeastern U.S. prehistory
and Native cultures. Stone tool and prehistoric ceramic
analysis are laboratory concentrations. Mr. Jones has
worked closely with specialists in zooarchaeology,
paleobotany, osteology, geomorphology, soil analysis,
radiocarbon dating, and historical studies and
architecture.
Mr. Jones has twenty-five years of experience as an
archaeologist and has successfully completed over two
hundred archaeological projects including all phases of
investigation as well as cemetery and burial removal.
Mr. Jones has also published articles in nationally
distributed academic journals and has presented
numerous professional papers at regional and national
conferences. Previous clients include federal and state
agencies and numerous architectural and engineering
firms.
