This document discusses discovering human activities from sensor data. It describes the potential business opportunities from analyzing data related to aging populations. It also outlines IBM's research on using sensors deployed in assisted living facilities to monitor activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, eating, and mobility. Topic modeling is applied to sensor readings to learn relationships between sensors and ADLs in an unsupervised manner.
