Portafolio of my own designs.

1. “The Art Nouveau Collection”
I was inspired on Alphonse Mucha and the 1900’s era. These inspiration boards were made out of book pictures, and my own artwork. I put fabric swatches, color
schemes, and some clothing ideas. The collage technique makes all the different inspirations come together.

3. The clothing is a modern spin on Art Nouveau and styles of this era. The collection is made for the summer/spring period. I made 10 different outfit ideas,
and then mixed and matched until there was a cohesive collection. Every drawing was made with markers, pens, and coloring pencils.

4. “The Mexicali Collection”
I got inspired by the culture and the panoramic views of Mexicali, Mexico (A city bordering the state of California). Mexicali is known for having a very high popula-
tion of Chinese immigrants on the 20th century, and for the wine-producing region in the middle of the desert area. The collage technique was also used for this,
with my own artwork and photographs.

5. Since I experienced the hot and humid weather of Mexicali first hand I decided to make the clothing fresh with light colors. The different patterns were inspired by all
the colors I saw in my journey and by the contrasting environments.

7. I got inspired to do this industrial-style lamp by the simplicity of the Industrial Revolution of the end 18th Century and
beginning 19th Century. This was an era in which factories were being created to produce things quicker. The faucet
idea came since it was the time where sewers were being built, and although now a days it’s something simple, it is
of extreme beauty.

8. When I started my knife project I brainstormed to have all my ideas clear. Afterwards, I researched on how ergonomic the knives would be. All the inspirations
came from the shapes and colors mood board.

9. I created a 3D model of the final idea on the computer before doing any tangible models. After doing the 3D model, I made the tangible knife model out of foam
so I could get practice before doing it with Epoxy Clay.

10. To do the Epoxy Clay model, I used a sandpapering machine to make the different faces of the knife. Afterwards, I did a silicon model and covered it with
glass fiber so when the resin was poured into it, it wouldn’t break. I made the knife blade with acrylic that I cut by laser and then sandpapered by hand to
give it a sandblasted effect and a sharp edge to cut. After all of this was done I polished the knife by hand with a cloth to give it a shine.

11. In the end, the acrylic blade was sharp enough to cut a lemon without any difficulties. After finishing the resin knife, I did a blister for it. I took several images off the
Internet and collaged them in various ways. Since it was inspired from a carrot, I made the background out of plants to try and achieve an old species book look.

12. For the final product I chose “La Carrote” as the knife’s name and I added the Latin name at the end.
I thermoformed the plastic onto the knife and the blister to make it like a product one could buy in a store.
The knife is made out of resin and acrylic.

13. The criterion for this dress was to make it out of recycled materials. I got inspired from all the different patterns that I could find in old magazines. I made a
scheme of colors from light to dark in both pieces. Everything is sewed to a fabric that I cut into a long skirt and a crop top. My sister was my model so I had
to constantly measure and fit it to perfection. I choose a simplistic makeup with dark eyes so that there would be a contrast with the dress. The high bun
was made to keep the face clean and the design of the clothes free.

15. My inspiration for this project was the “Tree of Life” present in Mexican culture. It’s a way of explaining how Adam
and Eve coexisted with all the other living organisms and how life begun, according to religious beliefs. I made this
project in High School with the criteria that we had to use different textures to make a drawing. The materials used
are a scratchboard and a scratching material. This project was chosen to be in the Congressional Art Juried
Competition sponsored by the Maryland State Representative.
