About the Resource Guide
This resource guide is intended to be accessible for anyone, especially the target population:
Division of Youth Services staff as well as the youth they supervise. This guide can also be
redistributed to other organizations such as: law enforcement, health care providers, shelter
workers, and many other human services organizations. The guide content is based on results
of research of the best recourses available currently, both locally and nationally.
There are many community resources available for victims here in Lane County. Generally,
trafficking victims are unable to obtain these resources by themselves; they need assistance
from human services providers. They need guidance on where to access these resources and
the benefits of the services so they can begin to achieve self-sufficiency, become a survivor, and
rebuild their lives.

Job Training
Lane Workforce Partnership
2510 Oakmont Way, Eugene, OR 97401
(541) 682-3800
 South Lane School District
o The South Lane School District program provides education completion and
workforce development services to at-risk in-school students. Students are
provided with opportunities to expand career options and explore careers
in manufacturing and green technology. The program is designed to serve
groups of students in cohorts throughout their participation. The program
incorporates academic and career supports, intensive mentoring, summer work
crews and internships, industry specific skill development and additional
incentives via college credits. There is an expanded focus on three industry
clusters with coursework articulated to LCC; streamlined pathways that avoid
course duplication and enhanced technology networking.
 Pleasant Hill School District
o The focus of Pleasant Hill’s program is high school completion, career
exploration and gaining employment skills through such programs as the School-
to-Work program, peer tutor program, Youth Transition Program (provides
assistance in both life skills and work skill attainment). Students receive
assistance in special projects and classroom assignments and can earn credit
recovery during the summer and online credit recovery during the school
year. Along with these programs, staff provide basic work skills through school
base business, pre-apprenticeship program in the areas of construction, sheet
metal, plumbing and electrical, and work experience focused on green and
construction clusters. Events such as career fairs, college fairs, the Lane
Community College’s College Now and RTEC Programs, Pleasant Hill Fire
Department’s Emergency Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation’s Work Skills
Assessment all provide additional resources for education in future careers.
 McKenzie School District
o McKenzie’s program design emphasizes high school completion, literacy skills,
career research, and employment development. Some of the resources
available to students are one-on-one tutoring, credit recovery, work experiences,
internships, college tours and career fairs.
 Bethel School District
20
o The Bethel Program is located at Kalapuya High School and serves both in and
out-of-school youth. It is designed to prepare students for emerging
construction and green career fields. Participants gain general workplace
readiness skills and participate in career specific training and internships. Youth
also have the opportunity to enroll in high school classes at Kalapuya High School
and/or take college courses at Lane Community College.
 Looking Glass Riverfront School and Career Center
o Riverfront Alternative High School offers high school credit recovery, high school
completion, GED programs and modified diplomas. The job training program
funded through Lane Workforce Partnership offers occupational skills training
through a variety of programs including college level healthcare classes, culinary
arts, and a natural resource development crew. Individualized work experiences
with local businesses and specialized training programs are other major program
components.

  • 3. 3 About the Resource Guide This resource guide is intended to be accessible for anyone, especially the target population: Division of Youth Services staff as well as the youth they supervise. This guide can also be redistributed to other organizations such as: law enforcement, health care providers, shelter workers, and many other human services organizations. The guide content is based on results of research of the best recourses available currently, both locally and nationally. There are many community resources available for victims here in Lane County. Generally, trafficking victims are unable to obtain these resources by themselves; they need assistance from human services providers. They need guidance on where to access these resources and the benefits of the services so they can begin to achieve self-sufficiency, become a survivor, and rebuild their lives.

Students are provided with opportunities to expand career options and explore careers in manufacturing and green technology. The program is designed to serve groups of students in cohorts throughout their participation. The program incorporates academic and career supports, intensive mentoring, summer work crews and internships, industry specific skill development and additional incentives via college credits. There is an expanded focus on three industry clusters with coursework articulated to LCC; streamlined pathways that avoid course duplication and enhanced technology networking.  Pleasant Hill School District o The focus of Pleasant Hill’s program is high school completion, career exploration and gaining employment skills through such programs as the School- to-Work program, peer tutor program, Youth Transition Program (provides assistance in both life skills and work skill attainment). Students receive assistance in special projects and classroom assignments and can earn credit recovery during the summer and online credit recovery during the school year. Along with these programs, staff provide basic work skills through school base business, pre-apprenticeship program in the areas of construction, sheet metal, plumbing and electrical, and work experience focused on green and construction clusters. Events such as career fairs, college fairs, the Lane Community College’s College Now and RTEC Programs, Pleasant Hill Fire Department’s Emergency Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation’s Work Skills Assessment all provide additional resources for education in future careers.  McKenzie School District o McKenzie’s program design emphasizes high school completion, literacy skills, career research, and employment development. Some of the resources available to students are one-on-one tutoring, credit recovery, work experiences, internships, college tours and career fairs.  Bethel School District
