• A Developing Country Like India Can Scarcely Afford The Financial
And Social Burden Of Road Traffic Accidents Of This Proportion
• How Easy It Is To Get A Driving License In India.

*** Necessity ***
To reduce RTA strike rate result in reduction in Fatalities…
... Every 1 Minute = 1 Accident ...
... Every 4 Minute = 1 Death ...
Maharashtra has the worst accident rate in the country with 212
accidents and 24 deaths every day.
In the first HY of 2011, Kerala had 2,119 accident deaths.

*** Training & Devlopments ***
The Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE)
• IRTE took the initiative in 1998 and developed standardized Driver
Training Systems, processes and a vast training curriculum. Over
170,000 drivers have since been trained by IRTE and each of these
drivers has gone through a process of pre- and post-training
assessment.
Training is not a Cost but an Investment to Nation

*** Remedial Measures ***
Global Status Report On Road Safety (2009) Published By WHO for
178 Countries, shows That Developed Nations Have Been Able To
Significantly Reduced The Number Of RTA Deaths By...Proactive
Measures From The Government And Strict Enforcement Of Laws.
The Report Shows That Although Basic Laws For Road Safety Exists In
India, Their Enforcement Is Extremely Weak.
So, In India, Road Safety Laws Need To Be Made More
Comprehensive While Enforcement Should Be Strengthened.
It Is Imperative On The Part Of The GOI To Take Measures To Increase
Safety On Indian Roads as well as being responsible citizens of India
the responsibility equally lies with us for..
Better India Better Tomorrow
