Prof. Mauro F. A. Adamo writes a letter of reference for Sandra Sanchez. He states that Sandra joined his research group in February 2015 through an Erasmus grant from the University of Barcelona. Sandra worked on preparing small molecules relevant to manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Sandra quickly understood the theoretical basis of her work and translated it into practical skills. She produced significant results during her time in the group and will be co-author on two upcoming publications. Prof. Adamo describes Sandra as logical, meticulous, determined, and having a thorough understanding of chemistry. He believes Sandra is capable of carrying out work to the highest standards.

This is the 'Invitation and information' that I used in the participant recruitment phase of my PhD studies. I used a purposive snowballing technique to recruit participants. As such, this ivitation was initially e-mailed to my professional networks.

RE: Letter of Reference on behalf of Sandra Sanchez
To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to write this letter of reference in support of Miss Sandra Sanchez who has been an undergraduate
and a short term postgraduate researcher in my group. Sandra joined my group in Feb 2015 supported by an
Erasmus grant awarded from the University of Barcelona (Spain). She left the group in February 2016 after
completion of her Degree in Pharmacy.
Sandra started a new program of research which dealt with the preparation of small molecules that are relevant to
the development of processes to manufacture Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
Sandra was very fast in understanding the theoretical basis behind her scientific investigation and in translating
this knowledge into practical skills. Sandra’s work was very productive and she generated a great deal of results
during her presence in my group and he will be co-author of two publications, which I am currently preparing.
Sandra’s great strengths are her logical ability, her meticulous attention to detail, her determination in pursuing
objectives and a thorough understanding of chemistry. Sandra is a “woman of order” as described by her
colleagues and has a natural inclination to tidiness in practical issues and theoretical ones. She is an outstanding
experimental worker and is completely reliable. She gradually developed, during the time spent on the project, a
high level of independence, and often contributed to the theoretical aspects of her work.
.
In summary Sandra is a very capable individual who I am sure will be able to carry out work at highest standards
in any context she will be provided the opportunity.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information.
