The tourism and hospitality industries strongly affect one
another. Several association and industry leaders consider
the combined industries of tourism and hospitality as one
large industry- the tourism and hospitality industry.

6. The food and beverage components
The public looks for food and beverage services everywhere – in
Hotels, airlines, airports, cruise ships, trains, and shopping
malls. There must be food service available to them for
breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Other provider of food and
beverage services:
 Fast service restaurants
 Ethnic restaurants
 Specialty Restaurants
 Bars
 Supermarket
 Food stalls
 F0ood carts
 Food truck

7. The lodging component
Lodging involves providing overnight or
over long-term services to a guest. For
many people, lodging is a place to sleep. For
others, lodging facilities not only provide
beds but also entertainment and
recreational activities. Hence the lodging
industry components has begun to
accommodate several customer preferences
– from budget hotels to luxury hotels and
expensive resorts.

31. RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment originated from the traditional
duties of a host to entertain his or her guest,
whether they are neighbors or travelers from
other places. The host has always felt an
obligation to attend to the needs of his or her
guest not only for food and beverages and
lodging, but also for entertainment.

32. TRANSPORTATION
The main purpose of transportation is to make it possible for
people to go from one place to another. There are many ways
to do this, from the primitive and simple to the modern and
complex.
Common means of transportation are:
 Automobiles
 Recreational vehicles
 Buses
 Trains
 Ships
 Airplanes

33. TRAVEL AGENCY AND TRAVEL OPERATION
Travel agencies and tour
operators are modern additions
to the travel and tourism world.
Both have become important in
the survival of many businesses
in the tourism and hospitality
industry.

34. TRAVEL AGENT
Is one who sells travel services in the travel
agency. He or she sells travel services that
are assembled by other into “packages” in
the travel
business.

35. TOUR OPERATOR
 are wholesalers who make the necessary
contacts with hotels, airlines, and other
providers of travel services and devise
packages which will appeal
 To the retail buyers. They are volume
purchasers, who are able to negotiate
lower prices because of their high-volume
purchases. They are able to sell tour
packages at a cheaper price than
individual consumer

36. Hospitality and Tourism cannot be separated
Hospitality and Tourism cannot be separated. An area where has good hotel
and restaurant resources can attract more tourists. People are search for better
accommodation and dining location so the hospitality should be regarded
seriously. Tourism developed area have higher demand for the hotel, more
tourists’ needs, more place to live and relax. These two industries not only can
bring income to promote the national economy, but also solve the problem of
employment and with the development of the society, human’s activities
promote the development of many new industries. Hospitality and tourism
are two of these industries.
