After Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas Gulf Coast in late August 2017, damaging over 330 miles of cable infrastructure, Cable One worked tirelessly over the following months to restore service. Priorities included restoring service to local offices, police, medical facilities, and businesses in Port Lavaca, Point Comfort, Taft, and Gregory. Crews worked 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week through Thanksgiving, replacing over 81,000 feet of fiber, 334,000 feet of plant material, and 350,000 feet of drops. By October 24, 2018 all customers had service restored, though challenges remained in repairing additional damaged infrastructure and hiring replacement technicians.
