4 Things I Wish I Had Known Earlier About People, History, Money, and Risk
1. I wish I had known 4 things as below
PEOPLE : I wish I had travelled out of my country and known other cultures, behaviours, traditions,
business acumen and risk seeking strategy. Essentially through Travelling, i would have known the
importance of our existence and how great we as a human race are.
GEOGRAPHY and HISTORY : though I concentrated very little in both the classes during
schooling, if I had known history of each and every country, i would have understood people more.
Important and historical events that have changed humanity to what it is today. The decisions that
were made by decision-makers, such as kings, ministers, cabinet, rebels, all those who have
carved a story at each and every significant point of our human race, it would have made me
understood where we all are heading.
VALUE of MONEY : Fortunately in my case, i’m not a spendthrift, but If I had known what things to
be bought and NOT bought, i would have saved a whole lot more money. I didn't believe in
investing at that time. Wish I would have known so that things would have been much different
now.
RISK : This one takes the cake of all. One needs to take risk and am talking about life and death
risk towards a certain goal. That is going to define you in the books of history forever. Do not
hesitate to venture into anything you like, except where it’s fatal. Take chances and try few things
out. Fail more, fail often, get back up and retry. These are the things that will value a lot in your
Resume, not your scorecard. If you do crazy things worthy enough to put them in your CV, then
that the work-life balance.
A few more : Don’t be a part of any rat-race, its worthless. You’ll lose peace in your life forever. Do
not judge anyone, keep your mind as open as possible to new things. Do not be a racist or a
sexist. Mingle and network with as many people as you can. Venture in love, get involved with
someone and understand life. Talk to old people and take feedback on life, spend time with infants
and kids to understand freedom. Grow up and get married only when you realise that you’re worthy
enough to be a parent. Life is very very very simple. Don’t complicate with assumptions. Realise
your purpose in life as early as possible. Becoming a software engineer shouldn't be your goal. Its
not a goal at all. Become yourself. Know yourself. Create your identity with your character. That is
life. A life worth living.
