1. Mass Update for Asset Master Data Process Steps
Purpose:
Perform this procedure when there is a need to make changes to a large group of assets.

Step 1: Create Mass Change Rule:

2. 1.1 Add company or select for linking
Add New Entries and Input Company code and Seq NO.
1.2 Create Substitute
Select the Company code line and Click Substitution
1.2.1 Create Substitution Node
Click on “Create Substitution Button” and input name and Description
Choose Constant value (simple scenario)

3. 1.2.2 Create Steps (at least 1 step)
Click on “Create Step Button” and Select Field(s) to change
Activate table fields which we need to change
Click on Continue

Double click Substitutions node and input values

10. Note: - Shutdown button activated for Plant XXX assets.
Check the “Shutdown” box for the new interval but not the old interval:
This will halt depreciation from the start date of the new interval. If the new interval includes past
periods that have been depreciated, SAP recalculates the depreciation to reflect the shutdown
interval.
Cautions: If both intervals are checked, the depreciation is reversed for the entire open fiscal year.
If the asset shutdown box on the time-dependent tab is checked before the further intervals button
is clicked, the interval will already include the shutdown. If not removed from the original time
interval, the depreciation is reversed for the entire open fiscal year.
Note: Depreciation changes resulting from an asset shutdown change only affect the current open
fiscal year. If a shutdown done in an erroneous manner affects closed periods, corrections must
be done with journal entries.
