2. ROUND
Round diamonds are the most popular shapes of diamond
because their circular proportions gives it the most brightness
as the light reflects back more to the observer. They have
relatively higher prices for mainly 2 reasons. One is because it
is the most popular and second is it has lesser yield from the
rough compared to other shapes during cutting.
3. PRINCESS
Princess cut is a square cut with sharp edges . It is more
popularly used for mens jewellery . Most of the people
prefer a square shaped princess , while a few may prefer
slightly rectangular shaped princess. If it has length to
width ratio of less than or equal to 1.05: 1, it will appear
square in shape.
4. OVAL
The Oval cut diamond is a variation of a round
diamond and is more popular among women’s.
Most diamond buyers prefer length to width ratio
of 1.40: 1.60, while some may also prefer a ratio
of 1.70:1 which gives elongated shape to
diamond. The Ideal ratio should be 1.40.
5. PEAR
Pear cut is a tear-drop shaped variation of a
round diamond. This cut of diamond suits well
to pendants and earrings. Many of the largest
stones ever discovered have been cut and faceted
into magnificent Pear-shapes. Length to width
ratio of 1.65:1 is most preferred. The ideal ratio
should be 1.50.
6. EMERALD
Emerald cuts are sleek and elegant . The emerald
cut is rectangular with cut corners. Higher quality
emerald cuts are preferred because its cut makes
inclusions and lower color grades more
noticeable than other cuts. Length to width ratio
should be 1.80 . Emeralds yields most weight
while polishing.
7. HEART
The ultimate symbol of love, the romantic heart
shape is a variation of round brilliant cut
diamond. Ideally the length to width ratio should
be 1: 1.
8. MARQUISE
Its another variation of round brilliant cut
diamond with a boat shape look. Its most
popular among women’s jewellery. A length to
width ratio of 2:1 is most preferred. Ideal ratio is
between 1.80 – 2.20. A combination of Marquise
can give u a feel on round brilliant cut.
9. CUSHION
Cushion cut diamond is an antique style of
diamond cut, squarish in shape with rounded
corners and sides. Length to width ratio should
be 1:05 and should not exceed a ratio of 1.2:1
cushion cut resembling round cut , gives a choice
to customers who cant afford round cut
diamonds.
10. RADIANT
A radiant looks more similar to an emerald cut ,
can be square or rectangular in shape. This is one
of the few shape which is widely accepted in
both, square and rectangle shape Of Diamonds.
