7. MPhil/PhD process
• Select a potential supervisor well-known in your
field with suitable expertise (?)
• Submit your research proposal to the university.
• Register for an M/Phil.
• 12-18 months later, transfer to PhD providing
you have met certain academic criteria and have
reached a certain stage of your research as
defined by the university.
• Takes minimum 3-4 years to complete (FT) and 6-
7 years (PT).
