2. COCONUT
• Magnesium deficiency appears on the oldest leaves
of palms as broad chlorotic (yellow) bands along
the margins with the central portion of the leaves
remaining distinctly green.
3. OILPALM
• At severe deficiency, the pinnae turn yellow, then
brown, and desiccate, starting from the leaf tips.
5. CASTOR
• Deficiency of magnesium leads to yellowing of the
older leaves known as chlorosis. Acute deficiency of
magnesium also causes premature defoliation.
6. GROUNDNUT
• The predominant symptom is dark green veins with
yellow areas between the veins(interveinal
chlorosis). The bottom leaves are always affected
first. As the deficiency becomes more acute, the
symptoms progress up the plant.
7. SESAME
• Lower leaves develop interveinal chlorosis, light
yellow in color becoming orange later. Green color
persists in midrib and veins giving a characteristics
pattern.
8. SOYBEAN
• Mg deficient plants show light green to yellow
chlorosis of interveinal tissues, while the leaf veins
remain green. Whitish to light brown necrotic
blotches occur on the interveinal, marginal areas.
