PLOT AND BACKGROUND
•This Short Film was directed by Ben Aston and produced by Ryan
Bennet.
• Made for under £50 while in pre-production for another film, 'Russian
Roulette' went on to be selected for the Sundance Film Festival.
• This Short Film is about a women who is lonely in the big of city of
London where she turns to an online chatting roulette website to
hopefully find someone to talk too. She meets this one unique man who
has an interesting job which makes him fascinating and special.

ANALYSIS
• I watchedthe Short film “Russian Roulette” which involves one women who is lonely
in a big city. She turns to an online chatting roulette website in which she tries to find
someone to talk to, someone who she has a connection too. During the space of 5
minutes, the women goes from man to man, having no luck as all the men she finds
are either inappropriate or not interested. However, this soon changes as one man
catches her eye. A man who is very unique. He is chatting to her from outer space.
The giant contrast to the previous men and to the unique spaceman is incredible as it
highlights and conveys the idea that no matter how many times you try to look for
someone, the right person will always show up. From the constant shot reverse shot,
we are able to to witness all the exaggerated facial expressions that the women is
making to emphasises the emotions that she is feeling. The feeling of happiness, as
she realises she has found a nice, genuine person to talk too, surprised as she can’t
process the fact that he is calling form outer space and also the feeling of
contentment as he leaves her with a thoughtful message; “Do not be lonely, people
looking around you, the right people will look back”. This is the final line that he says
which is very impactful as you can see his genuineness in his face. This obviously
leaves her thinking about what he said and her looking up at the sky with a curious
