3. MIT Technology Review
MIT Tech Review is a graphical,
educational, and informative
website about today’s top
trends in technology. It helps
users to be updated with not
only the up-coming
technologies, but with its
importance in today’s society.
I believe the information displayed in the website is relevant for the general public and,
since the website is managed by the MIT institution, it can be considered as a reliable
source.
4. Wired
Smoothness is one of the major characteristics about the website Wired. It is very easy and
comfortable to navigate, read and access the articles. This technological website has a business
section where users can read articles about technology changing the business world. I
personally think that the “business section” is an unique and useful feature that pushed Wired
to be recognized as a famous tech website.
5. Fast Company
Fast Company is a website that,
similar to Wired, mixes both
technology and the business
world. The website is organized
and distributed in a way in
which users can select the
multiple topics that the page
offers. Leadership,
Entertainment, and Ideas are
just a few of the many sections
to be explored.
As an Information System student, this websites can help me to comprehend what is
happening in the world of business and technologies. Though, a highly recommended
website for everybody.
8. Collective Intelligence is a powerful source for creating value using the experiences and
insights of vast numbers of people around the world. Among the many reasons why this
practice is important, we have the following:
1. Collective Intelligence can enhance business outcomes by improving how
organizations access the untapped knowledge and experience of their networks.
2. Central to the success of Collective Intelligence initiatives is the ability to target and
motivate the right participants.
3. Collective Intelligence efforts need to address sources of resistance.

10. Wunderlist
Wunderlist is a simple to-
do list and task manager
app that helps you plan
your daily activities. It
helps to organize projects,
homework and personal
events. It synchronizes
with phones, tablets,
and/or PCs.
Personally, I have been using this app since last year, and it is a very efficient app. It helps me
to plan and organize the different tasks I have for each class and my personal life as well. I
use it as my agenda, and it has done nothing but make my day easier to follow.
11. Evernote
Evernote is an application
which objective is the
organization of personal
information through the file
of notes. Similarly to
Wunderlist, this app is highly
functional because it
synchronizes with other
devices such as phones and
tablets.
This is another app I have been using ever since I started college. The fact that I can make a
note wherever I am and then being able to check it on my phone is a great function, and
probably the one I use the most. The interface is very easy to use and follow.
12. Dropbox
Dropbox is a personal
cloud storage service
that sometimes is
referred to as an
“online backup
service”. It is frequently
used for file sharing
and collaboration.
Dropbox is another important app everybody should use. This app is the more popular than
the previous mentioned. I have been using it since 2015 for saving PDF books, photos and
videos. I currently use it to save important files such as papers, presentations and class
materials.
15. Question
1. What would be the importance of using a professional network such as LinkedIn
for your professional career?
LinkedIn is very useful application that has changed the recruitment and selection
process for companies as for individuals enabling the communication and contact
among employers and employees. As a future professional, LinkedIn is a key
element because it allows the careful and precise selection of jobs and
employment. In this way, the company can select the appropriate person for the
specific job, and an individual can find a job that matches his/her interests and
skills. As a current student, I opened my account on LinkedIn earlier this year to
start my professional profile and be ready for the future.
16. 2. How a professional network such as LinkedIn can boost your professional
networking?
Question
I think LinkedIn provides all features needed for a good development of an
individual’s professional networking since it is used to share, specifically,
job-related information. LinkedIn boosts professional networking by:
1. Connecting with Recruiters, Human Resource mangers, and Job
Consultants to discuss the job opportunities.
2. Providing you with a platform design to show yourself as a professional
to the world.
3. Creating a cyberspace used as a social recruitment tool for active and
passive jobseekers.
4. Sharing business ideas and plans.
20. Question
How can a blog boost digital presence?
Blogging has become an easy and effective way to spread ideas. A blog
can boost your digital presence since it can help you to influence,
persuade and move your prospects to action. Blogging also helps you to
get social media presence as people can share posts on social networking
sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and so on. For online businesses,
this strategy increases the online traffic of websites and it is considered an
efficient way to attract and retain customers.
22. After the registration process, Shopify displays an informational box. The website
intends to know more about its users by asking for extra information, such as what
the user plans to do in the site and the current revenue available.
23. This is the homepage of Shopify. Here, the website displays all the different
features and functions the user can apply to the online store. Adding products,
customizing online store, and adding a domain are some of the most important
tools of this section.
24. Orders will be managed in this section. It allows tacking, processing, and checking
the future orders of the company. This section has three different features: All
Order, Drafts (that allows the user to take orders through the phone or voicemail),
and Abandoned Checkouts (that allows managing situations in which a customer
adds items to their cart but does not complete the checkout process).
25. Product section allows users to add products or import existing inventory. It displays many
functions: All products, Transfer (allowing to track and receive incoming inventory from
suppliers), Inventory (enabling inventory tracking for each product and check stock levels),
Collection (allowing the user to group products into collections to make it easier for customers
to find them by category), and Gift Cards (a gift card is a special type of product. Its value can be
used as payment toward future orders from the online store).
26. Customer section enables the interaction between the stores and potential buyers,
reviewing customers, and manage their information. In addition, customers can
create an account with the store, adding their address information to their
accounts so that it auto-fills during checkout. They can also view their order history
with the store, and see the current order status for any purchases they make.
27. Analytics section displays three functions: Dashboards (that shows key sales, orders,
and online store visitor data through info-graphics), Reports (which allows creating reports for
various aspects of the store such as Acquisitions, Sales, Customers, Finance, and so on), and
Live View (gives a real-time view of the activity of the store. Live View includes a world map to
show where the activity on the store is coming from and some key metrics)
28. Discounts section allows to generate discounts codes for a dollar value discount, a
percentage discount, or a free shipping discount. The user can specify the dates
for which the code is valid, the number of times a code can be used, a minimum
order amount before the code can be used, and to which products, collections, or
variants the discounts can be applied.
