Oracle Management Cloud and Database Diagnosability 1/2016-Present
● Design, develop, and unit test zero down time (ZDT) functionality within the
Tenant Manager microservice within OMC.
● Investigate bugs within OMC by reviewing log files produced by Tenant Manager
and other microservices. Provide code fixes for bugs in Tenant Manager.
● Investigate production issues and assisting in implementing workarounds for
customer issues in the Oracle Cloud.
Database Diagnosability (Oracle ) 3/2013-Present
● Analyze and fix bugs in C within the Oracle database related to alert log entries,
trace files, and diagnosability metadata; develop enhancements to this
subsystem of the database.
● Designed, developed, and unit tested enhancements for Bug Matching -- an
Oracle internal database application used to reduce filing of duplicate bugs;
languages used: SQL and Perl.
● Developed a test set to measure the success rate of Bug Matching and used the
results to research additional potential enhancements to improve Bug Matching’s
“hit” rate; implemented some of those enhancements.
● Evaluated and performed updates to the Bug Matching schema involving the
addition of new tables and columns to existing tables.
● Spoke with customers and DBAs at Oracle Open World in September 2013.

HMC Serviceability Development (IBM ) 1/2009-3/2013
● Designed, developed, and unit tested application code that interacts with system
firmware to guide service actions. Delivered every project (6) ahead of or on
schedule.
● Observed service actions at customer sites to review the software’s use in the
field and provided recommendations to the team to improve usability.
● Developed Java plug-ins to port existing functionality of the Hardware
Management Console into IBM Systems Director.
● Led the serviceability team (10 other software developers) on a release of the
management console in 2012. Organized sprints and hosted scrums.
● Interviewed applicants for technical positions and provided management
recommendations.
● Refactored a very large, older source base (reduced code duplication, eliminated
dead code, improved tracing, and organized the source to become more
object-oriented). These modifications brought the total defects down 75% in a
three year span.
● Received an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award in 2012.
● Received the top performance rating in 2011 and 2012.
AIX Kernel Development (IBM) 11/2004-12/2008
● Designed and developed device driver code in C and assembly. Performed unit
and functional test.
● Constructed an API that significantly improved upon the performance of poll() /
select().
● Improved the reliability and serviceability of kernel software by making changes
to improve the quality and quantity of data captured during program execution.
AIX Diagnostic Application Development (IBM ) 1998-10/2004
● Designed and developed application code in C. Performed unit and functional
test.
● Constructed an API to display the event log of the diagnostic subsystem.
● Managed new releases of the AIX diagnostic standalone CD.
