Mar 2014 – Present Senior Software Quality Engineer – UniSphere forVMAX
I am currently working as a Senior Software Quality Engineer, on UniSphere for VMAX and VG3R, the next generation
of Symmetrix from EMC, with particular emphasis on Storage Provisioning & Discovery, FAST Storage Tiering and
RecoverPoint protection, however this role covers all aspects of the UniSphere product.
This involves configuring, provisioning and discovery of storage to a variety of hosts, including Windows, HP-UX, AIX,
Solaris, Linux & ESX/ESXi.
Sept 2012 – Mar 2014 Senior Software Quality Engineer – VMAX-Cloud Edition
This role involved the testing of various releases of the newly developed VMAX Cloud Edition, developed to sit in
front of EMC VMAX arrays, and simplify the process of SAN storage provisioning. My main responsibilities here
included zoning verification & host storage discovery.
The switch technology used was both Brocade & Cisco, and the OS discovery covered Windows, HP-UX, Solaris, AIX,
Linux and ESX/ESXi.

July 2007 – Sept 2012: Storage Admin with Allied Irish Bank (AIB)
This role involved managing a storage environment responsible for SAN Storage, tape & disk backups & restores and
information archiving, using the following technologies:
• EMC Symmetrix (DMX-3)
• EMC Clariion
• EMC Centera
• HP EVA
• McData & Brocade Switches
• Symantec NetBackup & Puredisk
• Axs-One Compliance suite
My main duties involved provisioning and reclaiming storage via symcli on our DMX 3, Navisphere on our Clariions,
EVA Command View on our EVA’s and zoning etc on our switches (McData & Brocade).
Previously I was responsible for maintaining the UNIX side of our BackUp and Restore environment, which was
delivered via Symantec NetBackup.
Projects completed include:
1. Enginuity Code Upgrades on our DMX Symetrix.
2. Firmware Upgrades on our Switches (McData)
3. Storage Reclaim (EMC DMX & Clariion. HP EVA)
4. NBU Upgrade (6.5.4 – 6.5.6.)
December 2004 – July 2007: Team Leader Output Services
During my time in this role I was leader of a shift team responsible for the creation of all written communications,
both internal and to external customers. This involved extracting all communications from their Mainframe format to
the printed version, using a variety of industrial printers. We then worked closely with our dispatch team to ensure
everything we produced went out to the correct destination and on time on a daily basis.
OTHER INFORMATION
I have a keen interest in all sports, particularly hurling, soccer & rugby.
I also enjoy playing handball & racquetball. I currently play racquetball against a colleague, but am always on the
lookout for a league.
