The GEOPLANO is an Angolan company, founded on 23 February 2006. Its focus is
mainly facing the area of foundations and geotechnical studies and a wide area of
services including geology consulting, project execution and inspection.
Currently the market competition requires the continuous search for innovative and
technically superior solutions in order to enable all Client projects.
Based on the importance of our role in the implementation of Client projects, we have a
technical staff highly qualified distinguished by competence, professionalism and

We are at the source of your projects and our intervention starts in the soil survey and
design solutions in the field of geotechnics which rely on accuracy, promptitude and

The technical staff of GEOPLANO has extensive experience in above mentioned
activities, both at project level and at the level of implementation.
4. GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
Regarding to geotechnical studies GEOPLANO perform the work with two types of drilling
equipment:
PERCUSSION DRILLING
The percussion drilling is a geotechnical geological research
method that performs manual auger probes holes in soils with SPT
tests. The STP tests can recover soil samples (disturbed) and it is
possible to describe the soil profile and correlate the NSPT values
with strength and deformity parameters.
ROTARY DRILLING
The rotary drilling is a geotechnical research method is the use of
mechanized equipment in order to obtain soil and samples
(undisturbed), continuous and cylindrical material. In this type of
drilling method it also can be executed STP tests.
Along with geotechnical drilling methods GEOPLANO provides several in situ tests and
other soil survey methods like test pits, soil profiling, soil mechanical analysis.
5. PRINCIPAL PREVIOUS WORKS
The Geoplano has an extensive list of clients such as Odebrecht, Franki, Bauer Angola, Tecnovia
Angola, Somague, Mota-Engil Angola, among others. From the list of work already performed
stand out:
Powerline Uíge – Lucala: Geotechnical investigation study with 60 percussion boreholes
were performed with SPT tests along the line in locations which were deployed the high
voltage towers and substations.
Dam Gove – Huambo: Geotechnical investigation study with 20 meters and 40 meters deep
rotary boreholes with geological and geotechnical characterization of soil samples.
Bridge over the River Queve – Cuanza Sul: Geotechnical investigation study with 80
meters deep rotary boreholes with geological and geotechnical characterization of soil
samples.
Quarry in Caxito – Bengo: Geotechnical investigation study with 20 meters deep rotary
boreholes with geological and geotechnical characterization of rock and undisturbed rock
samples for laboratory tests.
Bridge over the River Cambamba “Ponte Molhada” – Luanda: Geotechnical investigation
study with percussion and rotary boreholes, test pits and sampling campaign for laboratory
analysis, with geological and geotechnical characterization of soil samples.
Marina harbour – N’Zeto: Geotechnical investigation study with 25 meters deep percussion
boreholes with geological and geotechnical characterization of soil samples.
Thermal Power Station – Saurimo: Geotechnical investigation study with rotary boreholes,
DPSH tests and sampling campaign for laboratory analysis, with geological and geotechnical
characterization of soil samples.
Landfill site – Malange: Geotechnical and Hydrogeological investigation study with rotary
boreholes, permeability tests and sampling campaign for laboratory analysis, with geological
and geotechnical characterization of soil samples and hydrogeological characterization of
study site.
